Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): almost all styles
Reason for pickup change: looking for more output and range of tones
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: much hotter than stock
Tone: awsome!! way better than I expeted..Thick lows, sizziling highs(if you want) and everything in between
Sonic evaluation: I've used this bass through too many amps to list and it sounded awsome thru all of them.I no longer "need" e.q. on the amp. all the controll is now on the bass and is very flexible...well worth the investment.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play mostly hard rock\metal\hardcore with lots of jazz \swing\latin\rock-a-billy elements. and this set-up covers it all
Overall Rating
:
10
Comments: been playin 20 yrs.I've owned a lot of stuff in that time, some good some not-so good.these p\u's and pre-amp combo are the bee's knees.:)one of the most versatile I've tried.lots of headroom and output(with great e.q. and blend control)good quality pots and jacks(keep in mind that this is a top of the line product and I would not expect anything less from EMG).this ones a keeper folks
