Features :
This a great idea - separate circuit boards to control the cut/boost of EQ on your bass. Modules are available for bass, mid and treble. Each one can have the frequency upon which it operates varied using trim pots on the circuit board, as well as the bandwidth.

This leaves the surface of the instrument showing only the cut/boost knob for each EQ band - nice and simple.

Instrument :
The circuilt was addd to the instrument's existing vol, vol, setup. I used a bass & treble module, siting each control on one of the holes on the traditional Jazz bass bellplate. this meant I had to relocate the output jack on a side mounted oval plate. I also had a "flip-top" battery comartment installed to facilitate easy changes when required. The circuit boards were installed in the floor of the usual jazz bass control cavity.

Sound : 10
Being able to alter the freuency upon which each EQ module operates has meant that I now have a bass which sounds like itself, but now with a "little something extra" thrown in. I can emphasize the instrument's inherent "bark and bite" without losing any of the classic traditional Jazz sound - just wonderful!!!

Overall Rating : 10
I have used many EQ modules over the years (East, Aguilar, Bartolini, Demeter) and each has had it's own plus and minus points. What I have found refreshing is, as I have stated previously, is the ability to tailor the modules to best complement the inherent sound of my instrument.

This has meant that I can now have my usual sound, but with the ability to enhance certain frequencies without making the instument sound un-natural or "harsh".

I would have absolutely no problems in recommending these units to anyone interested. As I say, the fantastically adaptable nature of them means that you can set them to best fit your and your instrument's desired tone shaping.
