Perceived output level: medium, requires some drive at the amp stage to really cut through
Tone: clear, and balanced, very little coloration of the bass's natural tone
Sonic evaluation: I have run it through my own rig (SVT4, 2x15 mesa/boogie cab), direct, and a stage rig (SVT2, Ampeg 4x10). With the gain at about 11:30, the tone is clear and full, beyond that it gets a little boomy (though i don't think that's due to the pickup). The pickup has four individual heads which can be moved closer to or further from each string to balance the volume. This allowed me to get even volume across all four strings - a constant headache when I play purely acoustic. I was very satisfied with the fidelity and flexibility of this pickup.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: This was just what i needed for rock-oriented upright playing.

Comments: I am quite satisfied with this product and the treatment i got from the company. I doubt i will ever need another upright transducer.
