Humbucking musicman style. Can be used active or passive, but a series parallel is highly recommended. 13.6k output! Very hot!

Installed in Dan Armstrong 1999 reissue. One pickup in the sweet spot. Replaced Duncan Basslines SMB4D. Not sure who else uses this pickup but it sounds great! The Duncan sounds thin especially on the high end, but did have decent output. this takes the output and the tone to the next level.

It's very hot, but really well defined without being boomy and has a nice, clear, punchy high end. I get great response on my DA Ampeg Amb-1 bass. The lows are punchy and clear, very well balanced with the mids and not clanky or thin on the top. Just right for most styles of music. It's in your face and responsive to attack. If you play harder, it will respond. The response it great!

Definitely would replace. This is the WD Music version from Korea from Kent's design. I might have him build me an original if I replaced it. I play it thru a Markbass LIttle Mark II and a Markbass 112 with a horn cab and it soiunds great. Compared to Nordstrand, Duncan, Bartolini. Ceramic is the way to go. Liked the stock Duncan, just thin on the top. This fixes that. I am satisfied with the sound, but curious what it would sound like with a preamp. I use it passive and will likely just leave it that way.
