Comments: Sorry but I owe it to them. These K.A. win against G&L hambucker and Basslines active. On growl, tone, and definition, i like the slap tone too. It is true that they greatly benefit by using an onboard preamp, but is amazing that happens almost without havin to boost the controls.
I once seen them mounted on custom made bass equipped with a Ken Smith preamp and the thing sounded wicked.
They are noise free and sounded beautifully recorded from the amp into a Pionner 839 cd recorder. I believe there is a lot o potential with these and a preamp.
