Features :
These single coil passive pickups are very pleasing to the ear. I just put a set in my 64 P bass due to a failure of the original and originally I thought I would just use them till the orginals are repaired , I am now thinking the originals can stay safely in the Lollar box, and I will play the Lollar pickups. I find their claim of rich harmonics to be true, and the pickups look very professionaly manufactured. I would reccomend these pickups without reservation

Instrument :
1964 Fender precision neck date sept 1964 C
changed due to failure of original

Sound : 10
I am playing Blues, Classic Rock, and Classic Country using mainly a David Eden amp with 4x10 cab

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I would gladly purchase this product again

Features :
Passive P bass replacement pickup. According to lollar's web site 11k ohms. each pickup was marked 20 k so maybe really 10 k. I don't really care.

Instrument :
I put this into my previously stock '75 P bass (alder body which is rare for a 70's). My P bass was humming a lot. Any hum is too much for me. Got sheilding paint from stew mac and copper foil from a local craft store. I decided to replace the pickup while I did the sheilding work. I had read on the web that crestonguitars.com used Lollar pickups. Then I checked out Lollar. Both Creston and Lollar seem to be artist dedicated to their work. As long as I had the bass apart I figured I won't lose anything by changing the pickup. I could always sell the lollar on ebay, maybe lose 50 bucks on the gamble.

Sound : 10
Huge change for the better from the stock fender pickup. Not louder but a much clearer sound. That's clearer not cleaner as in less distorted. I guess a good analogy would be the difference between a picture that's slightly out of focus and one that is in focus. All the sound is there now and I didn't even know it was missing!
I play roots rock, country , jam band. Anything old school
I don't use effects. I have the following amp heads: 70's ampeg v4b, sunn concert, GK 400RB, and an SWR 350x. The swr is my go to head.
I have the following cabinets. ampeg svt 410SE, homemade cab with a peavey 15" Black widow, an SWR Goliath Jr. (2-10) and two aguilar GS112 with tweeters. One of the aguilar's is my go to cabinet, for larger gigs I add the SWR.

Overall Rating : 10
If you own or ever buy a bass with a P bass pickup. Replace it with a lollar. I have a Jazz bass with joe bardens. Soon as I get some cash the bardens are being replaced.

Features :
Lollar P Bass split-coil pickup

Instrument :
I put the Lollar in a new Fender Roadworn P Bass. These MIM basses are inexpensive but have a really nice feel. My only issue was the sound. The stock Fender pickup was deep and boomy, with little definition. The more I turned up, the muddier it got.

Sound : 10
I play through an SVT classic with an 8x10 at high volume, with minimal effects. When I put the Lollar pickup in, the other guys in the band noticed the improvement in sound IMMEDIATELY. As with any P bass pickup there is a ton of low end, but now it is tight and more focused. There is also punch and definition. It sounds great. The band sounds better.

Overall Rating : 10
I've replaced the pickups in P basses before (EMGs, Seymour Duncan), but never heard such a dramatic improvement. I've been playing bass professionally for over 20 years, and it is rare for a piece of gear to impress me the way this pickup has. I highly recommend them to any bassist looking to improve their sound. I've already ordered a set for my jazz bass, hopefully they are equally as good.
