4 string alder with quilt top top routed custom jazz bass with a 1980's WD FRETLESS not lined jazz bass neck and a on board Aguilar obp3 preamp feeding off 18v of on board power.

as stated on the nordstrand website, these have a slightly muted high end making them sound creamy and smooth on the fretless. add a little bass and mids, roll off the highs, roll well toward the bridge pickup, and you have beautiful fretless tone. I also put a warmoth fretted neck on this bass body and re-set it up + played a gig a few nights ago and the sound engineer said,"that bass sounds fantastic" and it does. although $240 a pair, these pickups are worth every penny. truly noiseless with a modern, unique and professional sound. these are the opposite of "honky" - very fine, boutique bass sound.

i would buy these again and reccomend to any player looking for a NEW sound. you could also purchase a single bridge pickup for @ $120 from bestbassgear.com and have yourself great sound. I would recommend using these with a good preamp as they are shy on the "bass" side of things.
