Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: More gain. I used the same amp settings as before I changed the P/U and my amp clipped like never before.
Tone: The same low-end as before, but a more cutting treble (which is awesome) and a crunchy mid-range. If you like (Tool-bassplayer) Justin Chancellor's bass-tone, this is something you should check out!
Sonic evaluation: As mentioned, I am using a Warwick Corvette Standard four-string through an Ampeg SVT-3 PRO-series amp and a Peavey 8x10" TX-cabinet.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play a form of progressive hard-rock kinda like Tool and these P/U's are a perfect match! Although when using the bridge P/U alone, you get more attack and the tone is more funky!
Overall Rating
:
10
Comments: I would definitely replace these P/U's if something happened to them. In addition to the mentioned equipment above I also own an ESP/ltd B-105 five-string, a Peavey Microbass combo (for home-practising) and an Ibanez SA-160 guitar. I have been playing for about six years.
In my opinion, I have found the sound in my head and would not trade these P/U's for anything else! And the best part: NO NOISE!
