Features :
Single Coil, passive pickup.

Instrument :
I have one in my Squier P/J Bass and one in my Fender Jazz 24. For the Squier I was replacing horrible, weak, muddy stock pickups. For the fender I was replacing a less powerful Basslines pickup.

Sound : 10
This has to be one of the hottest passive pickups on the market. Very clean, punchy and articulate. Very well balanced EQ. I play pretty much every style across the board, and they do very well. They especially shine in funk, and heavy rock or metal. I don't suggest them for sloppy bass players because they'll expose your playing flaws. If you like being heard, pick up a set. You cant beat it for the price.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I have at least one in all of my basses. I've been playing for 10 years. Everyone has their own opinion of what is the best tone, but for me, these are it. If stolen, I'd pick new ones up ASAP. I love the value of these pickups.

Features :
Pickup features: Single Coil Passive
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Fender Highway 1 Jazz Pass
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: Fender Stock Jazz Pickups
Other pickups on guitar:
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): Blues, Rock, Metal, Punk, Jazz, Funk
Reason for pickup change: I bought the bass new and right off the bat I felt the pickups were too weak... my other bass at the time had active pickups and I wanted the two to be sonically closer, so I decided to drop in these bad boys.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Hot... damn hot.... the kind of heat that crawls up your back, slaps you in the face, grabs you by the ear and screams "Damn... I'm hot"
Tone: Lots of bass, a great spicy high end and a glorious midrange honk
Sonic evaluation: Fender BXR 200 head run through and Ampeg 115 cabinet

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play rock, blues and punk mostly (I know, odd match), but with these pickups I can recreate everything from a good thumpy walking line to a high speed Matt Freeman-style picked line, these pickups are great.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: If this was destroyed or stolen I would not only replace it but hunt down whoever stole/destroyed it. I've been playing for a whopping 4 years (give or take) and I own this bass (fender jazz), a Warwick Corvette 5-string, a Warwick Streamer 4-string, a Yamaha RBX-370A and an Ibanez TR-50. This is definatly the bass I grab first for a gig because I love how sensitive these pickups are, I can pound the hell out of them and get thunder or I can gently pluck the strings and get a whisper. The only thing I wish they had was a stacked version of these suckers, the single-coil hum is a little annoying when I'm onstage with my amp at half volume. Other than that, these are perfect.

Features :
Pickup features: Passive Single Coil Jazz Pups
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Custom Neck Through Jazz Type by Mark Leue
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: Bartolini
Other pickups on guitar: Quarter Pounder Bridge Pup.
Artists using this pickup: Unknown
You musical style(s): Funkd, Soul, RnB
Reason for pickup change: Suggested my Matt and the boys at Parkway.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Hot sauce on your balls hot.
Tone: Quite variable based upon the pots used. Much hotter than the Barts.
Sonic evaluation: I'm using a Mesa Boogie MPulse 600 with an SWR Goliath Junior III and a Baby Bertha. Generally run straight, no affects, no tricks, just straight out tone and thump. These Pups are much more detailed and hotter than the Barts they replaced. It's truly, like night and day. Didn't like the exposed pole magnets at first but now... pheh.. for that improvement in sound I'd put up with a lot.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Funk Soul, RnB. It'll serve as either neck or bridge with equal aplomb.

Overall Rating : 9
Comments: The bass is irreplacable as it's a one off custom. I've been playing bass off and on since 1968. I've a '68 Fender Jazz, a '68 Les Paul Recording bass, a 70's Rennaisance Lucite, a Ken Smith CR5-J, a couple of Ibanez 5's and an Anderson 5.
Wish the Pub had a solid face as opposed ot exposed magnets, but I'm VERY satisfied with the sound improvements I got.
