Features :
Pickup features: humbucker
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Precision Bass
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: Stock
Other pickups on guitar: No
Artists using this pickup: Don't know
You musical style(s): Rock, blues, funk
Reason for pickup change: Great bass with dull, uninteresting sound

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Avarage P-bass, I guess
Tone: Open, balanced sound - all frequencies nicely represented.
Sonic evaluation: Jap Squier P from 1983(which, unlike the new korean ones, is a great instrument) into Boss Bass Limiter into BassLab hand build tube/mosfet rig. BassLab is a cool small danish company.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: This pickup gives you the perfect vintage P-bass sound.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I've been playing for 13 years and gig a lot. This p/u improved my sound 100%. Buying it can actually save you money - since I got it, I'm getting rid of a lot of pedals. I simply don't feel the need to use effects (except compressor) anymore because this is the best bass sound you can get and it's a shame to hide it in effects.
I couldn?t see the point in paying twice as much for Antiguities or Bartolini, so I chose between this one and the Duncan Hot for P-bass. I ended up with the Vintage because I don't play hard rock and because I felt that I needed the high end clarity for solos, fills and slapping (yes, I slap my P and you should too!). Having high end clarity doesn't mean you sacrifice the lows. The Vintage has all the lows you need - maybe except for those bass players competing against walls af Marshalls. Unlike must of the gear you buy, this product makes you play better so it's a clever investment. I'm happy i didn't waste money on Bartolini or Antiguities pre-aged, look-how vintage-I-am pickup.
I'm a happy man and I would buy this one again at any time.

Features :
Pickup features: copy of post-1957 Fender Precision humbucking pickup
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: P-bass copy with added J bridge pickup
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: EMG Select
Other pickups on guitar: Seymour Duncan Classic Stack Jazz Bass
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): rock, folk-rock
Reason for pickup change: EMG Select single coil pickups hummed

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: average
Tone: deep with rounded highs and average mids
Sonic evaluation: Gives that classic P-bass sound.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Good for classic rock and soul. Not especially versatile, but great when you want that sound. I usually blend in some of the Jazz bridge pickup to add some growl to the Precision pickup's deep rich sound.

Overall Rating : 8
Comments: I like having this tone available on one bass, though lately I've
been favoring another instrument with a Bartolini P-J set on it
(more versatile and clearer).
