Not sure what year or where it was made. Has D'Agostino New York written on it and engraved into the brass truss rod cover. 4 string fretted bass. Double cutaway solid body shaped a lot like a Padulla. It is a neck through design with unusual darker wood bands runnning the length of the neck and beside the neck were the body wings are glued to the neck. It is an attractive light colored wood, possibly all maple, but I'm not sure of that. Glossy thick finish. It has P/J pick up configuration w/one three way switch and a tone and volume control for each pick up. P bass style bridge. Unmarked sealed back tuners with spade shaped knobs. Neck is J style full scale, rosewood fretboard, Brass nut and very nice frets.

The p pick up sounds very good. The J pick up is fairly bright. The two pick ups do not sound that good together and there is a high roll off when used that way. I pretty much use the P only. It has a full sound and plenty of punch if you want it.
I use it with an Acoustic 120 / 1-15 most of the time (and depend on the PA for the rest of the sound).
I play blues, country, rock, blue grass, rockabilly, whatever. never recorded, lots of stage use.

This is a very well made instrument! I bought it used and set it up to my preference. The bass is among the most playable I've ever had. It is very attractive to look at and people always ask what it is. It has it's share of dings and oxidation, but we're talking about a 20-30 year old instrument that has been gigged a lot.

Funny, I bought this as a backup for a fancy Godin with a troublesome pre-amp. This quickly became my main bass. Has played hundreds of live shows and never let me down. You can only imagine what this instrument has been through. Never needed a back-up for this one.
Once I had to take the back cover off and repair a wire. Thats about it. hardware is fine. Finish is still glossy. The strap buttons have needed attention, but have been o.k. since. I have adjusted the truss rod once or twice in years of constant use. Stays in tune very well.

playing for 25years. Used to gig constantly.
Have a Godin bass, Several bass amps and an acoustc guitar.
Compared to an early 80's Yamaha, various P, J basses and clones and the Godin, this is hands down the one I like the best.
Would by it again in a second, If I ever saw another that is.
