Bought the guitar a year or 2 ago in Glasgow, made in China. It is a 5 string bass with 24 frets. The body has a gloss black finish and I thing a Rosewood finger board. Controls are volume, bass, treble and another rotary knob which fades between the 2 p/u. Pickups are- single coil at the neck and a h/b at the bridge. I have no idea what the pickups are, the electrics are active
The body is smallish and a sort of Stratocastery shape (Sorry don't know bass guitar body types. It is the lightest bass I have played but still seems very solid and well put together. The bridge is simple but solidly made. Strings hooking onto the back of the bridge and lying on adjustable erm, anvil things.
High quality machine heads, anonymous but very smooth action and feel well built.
Being a five string it has a nice fat neck and well finished frets.
The shop supplied the guitar with no accessories at all. It was taped into a couple of bin bags.

Sound : 8
I find the guitar has a very jazzy sound, but it is easy to tweak, and it supplies a really solid low end. I have a behringer BX600 and the 2 work well together. I find that you get a lot of finger noises as you play but that is probably just my amatuer fingers at work.
I mostly accompany acoustic guitarists in a jam night session, fairly low volume work. I also tend to have 'workouts' in the house alongside groups like Killing Joke, Japan and Nirvana. which are loud.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The setup couldn't be faulted, all I have had to do is the occasional tuneup. The only niggle I have, which will probably mean a visit to a guitar doctor, is that when the treble is backed right off, the sound can cut out completely. It seems like a wiring problem rather than a duff pot, just tried it now and everything worked perfectly so I don't know. No noise from the pots or crackles so who knows?
I don't like the battery clamp because trying to get the battery out and change it you run the risk of hurting some electronics. The battery is held in a spring steel clip whic is badly positioned, A seperate battery compartment would be far better.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The guitar is solidly put together, with well built machine heads, bridge, knobs and strap buttons. Time will tell for the finish but it seems good. There seems to be a gremlin in the electronics but if you avoid using the tone controls below 50% nothing goes wrong.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't even know how to get in touch with the company

Overall Rating : 9
Playing bass for 5 years, strictly amatuer. If it was stolen I would consider it again, but would spend more time considering others as well. (I know a bit more now).
I didn't do any real research when I bought it, just looked at the differnt basses on display, I wanted a 5 string, it had 2 pickups with one a humbucker. The price was good and I like black.
I don't regret the choice, it is a good guitar, I don't knopw whether the finger/fret noise is exaggarated by the bass or the behringer amp, it doesn't seem to be a problem with the Squire 4 string bass I have on loan but the ancient strings the owner of that one prefers give it a warmer sound anyway, more like his Ashbory. So maybe it is the guitar. Tweaking the tones makes a difference and one day I will buy a bass effects box thing to see what happens then.
