Mine is a 2005 made... Daniel Aleman is an argentinian luthier, he's the best here. Is a 24 frets, 4 strings, solid top. Multilaminated necktrhu (Inciense, Alder and Mahogany), ebony fingerboard and Alder Body. Jumbo frets, independent tone/volume controls for each pickup. Have two EMG SB 45 HZ pickups, passive electronics. Grover tuners (GREAT TUNERS!!), and an Akkord custom string/thru bridge (I wanted this, this way gives me moooore sustain). It's an Ibanez BTB Prestige imitation, the only difference what the picks are EMG and passive... But I wanted these accesories. Woods are so great.

Sound : 9
I play funk and metal. I usually plays with a BXR 200 or a Laney RBW 200. With both ones, It works good. EMGs have a little bit of hum, but I wanted a passive bass, the hum doesn't cares.

It works so good for all kind of music, very versatile. See, the woods and construction gives me a great versatility, I can play funk with a good presence, I can play jazz with good warm tones (it could be better), I can play metal with a punchy attack (I love EMGs). Totally reliable...

I didn't test this baby in studio yet, but It's a work horse in gigs.

I love the sound what this bass can give me, but I would love have a little more of warm tone, maybe the woods are so punchy or maybe the pickups... But... Nobody is perfect, huh?

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Totally EXCELLENT! It's a handmade bass. Need say more? multilaminated neckthru, mother of pearl inlays (the scorpion inlay likes a tatoo on wood), alder body. What more I can say?

Reliability/Durability : 10
I played with a Peavey Milestone III, a Warwick Thumb fretless and a crap named "Field" P-Bass... Maybe this one is the best bass I ever played. A solid and fast neck, the finderboard is beautiful (ebony), so comfortably.

Hardware won't dissapointed you. It has good hardware.

Finish is transparent, nice view of woods.

This is my main bass, I have the Peavey as second and I play my fretless some songs. I fell in love with this baby, but I can play another things with the another ones. But if you plays metal, or funk, you will love this bass.

Daniel lives two blocks away my home... Need say something more?

Overall Rating : 10
I play since I was 13. 10 years ago now. I play with two pedals, a Ibanez BE 10 EQ, and BOSS LM-2. If you wants a work horse, here is your bass. It can makes you sound likes a pro.

If I lost this bass, I will cry as a little baby. I love all in this bass (except, because is sooo punchy for jazz...). Of course I will buy "The Scorpion" again, but with a P/J configuration. I love the neck, fast and so easy to play... I couldn't say what I hate in this bass.

If you compare this with a Warwick or Musicman, we'll have a tie. But these basses are expensive if you see "The Scorpion". It's a professional bass, with a amateur price. The best investment for a new bass player.

This is a marterpiece of a local luthier...
