Features : 10
The bass was made in 2006 in NYC. It has 21 frets and is a 5 string. It is set up as Vol/Vol/Passive Tone/Bass/Treble. It has 2 custom Alleva Copolo single coil pickups (70's spacing) as well as an Alleva Coppolo preamp (active bass with push-pull passive knob). The bass has an alder body, highly figured quilt maple top, maple neck w/african rosewood board, brass bridge, vintage small Dunlop frets. The back of the body was painted a brown chocolate trans that looks absolutley incredible against the quilt maple top.

Sound : 10
This bass has an amazing Fender Jazz bass vibe. The sound is so sweet I can't wait to record with it. The preamp is tuned perfectly. The bass control never gets boomy even if turned all the way up and the treble control never gets brittle. The passive tone control gives the instrument just the right amount of warmth when cut back just a bit. The bass gives me a great finger style sound as well as an amazing slap sound. The bass simply sounds amazing for all styles!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
As soon as I picked up and played this bass it felt like I had owned it for years and years. Brand spanking new it felt like it was completely broken in. It's very inspiring to play. In fact, the bass feels so good I don't want to put it down. In my humble opinion that is the mark of a great bass! It is extrememly easy to play and the neck is super comfortable both in lower and upper registers. The action is flawless! I've had a few Fodera basses, a Ken Smith bass, an MTD bass, to name a few, and don't get me wrong, these are all great basses. But this bass is every bit as good, if not better, than all of them. Jimmy is a true craftsman.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I can't comment on how reliable or durable this bass is because I've only had it 2 months. However, judging from the way this bass is put together I can't ever imagine there would be a problem. If there was a problem I have every confidence that Jimmy would fix the problem quickly.

Customer Support : 10
I've had numerous questions since owning the bass. Jimmy has returned every e-mail and always takes my phone calls. He never makes me feel like I'm interupting or bothering him.

Overall Rating : 10
This happens to be my favorite bass. From the construction, to the fit and finish, to the playability, to the sound, this bass is top shelf all the way. It is absolutely the best !If you're lucky enough to be in the NYC area do yourself a favor and check out Jimmy's basses. You'll be very happy you did.
