Features : 10
The bass was made in 2006 in NYC. It has 21 frets and is a 5 string. It is set up as Vol/Vol/Passive Tone/Bass/Treble. It has 2 custom Alleva Coppolo single coil pickups (70's spacing) as well as an Alleva Coppolo preamp (active bass with push-pull passive knob). The bass has an alder body, highly figured maple top, an oil finished maple neck w/African Rosewood board, brass bridge and vintage small Dunlop frets.

Sound : 10
This bass has an amazing Fender Jazz Bass vibe. The sound is very rich and complex. Jimmy???s preamp is tuned perfectly. The bass control never gets boomy even if turned all the way up. The treble control never gets brittle when it is turned all the way up. The passive tone control gives the instrument just the right amount of warmth when cut back just a bit. The bass gives me a great punchy finger style sound as well as an amazing slap sound. The bass simply sounds amazing for all styles!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
As soon as I played this bass it felt like I had owned it and played it for years. Brand spanking new it felt like it was completely broken in. It is extremely easy to play. The neck is super comfortable both in lower and upper registers. The oil finish on the neck gives it a very fast smooth feel. The neck never gives sticky or tacky. In my opinion, the oil finish on the neck is the only way to go. The action on this bass is flawless! The bass is very inspiring to play. In fact the bass feels so good it???s hard to put down. In my humble opinion that is the mark of a great bass! I've owned numerous high end basses. I???ve had a few Fodera basses, a Ken Smith bass, an MTD bass, to name a few and don't get me wrong these are all great basses. However, my Alleva Coppolo 1600 is as good if not better than all of them. Jimmy is a true craftsman.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Judging from the way this bass is put together I can't ever imagine there would be a problem. If there was a problem I have every confidence in the world Jimmy would fix the problem quickly.

Customer Support : 10
I've had numerous questions since owning the bass. Jimmy has returned every e-mail and has taken every phone call. He has never made me feel like I'm a pain in the butt. I've gotten first class service all the way.

Overall Rating : 10
This happens to be my favorite bass. From the construction, to the fit and finish, to the playability, to the sound, this bass is top shelf all the way. It is absolutely the best! If you're lucky enough to be in the NYC area do yourself a favor and check out Jimmy's basses???you'll be very happy you did.
