Contoured Double Cutaway body, Solid Alder w/ Quilted Maple Top, Bolt-on neck joint, Graphite Reinforced Maple neck with rosewood fretboard, 34" scale, 2-Custom Alvarez Humbucker pickups, 2-Volume and 1 tone knob, Die Cast chrome finish knobs/tuners.
The bass feels really solid, and looks good. I threw on some straplocks, but it seems to use a nonstandard screw size for the part where the strap goes on - so I had to rig it to work okay.

I play prgoressive rock, and this bass fits well with the style. I think it would be good for anything really, esp. harder styles like punk or metal. I use some kind of vintage 200 watt amp head with a behringer 4x10 and a custom built 1x15 cab. The sound is good and full, although I can't figure out those darn knobs. Two volume controls (for each pickup, I guess?) and one tone control. I dont know, they act really funny.

I bought the bass new from an online retailer and when I got it I tried to adjust the truss rod because it was a little off. The entire truss rod came out (more on this in cust. service section.) But once that was taken care of everything is really nice. I moved up from a cheap yamaha (bb200, I think), and this thing blows that old bass out of the water.

I trust this bass for touring, live playing, and recording in the studio. It's a beast and hasn't ever suprised me with any problems (besides that truss rod thing).

I sent in the bass to fix the truss rod through a local shop. I dont know if it was the shops fault or alvarezs fault but it took like three months to get my bass back (big pain in the butt). When I did get it back they hadn't even put the new neck on, they just sent me a new neck back with the bass. The shop was cool enough to [ut it on for me (even though I didnt buy the bass there - thanks Bill Harris in Provo, UT). I think the bass has a lifetime warranty, so Alvarez didn't give any trouble fixing it, they just took a while to send the part.

I've been playing for many years and this is a good solid bass. I'm sure I will hold on to it for a long time before getting something nicer. I play in a band (you can hear the bass in action at www.thepowerless.com). I really didn't think I would win the ebay auction, but I did and it seemed like a pretty good deal.

probably made in 1999 or 2000, in korea of all places. 22 frets, 4 string. nice solid alder body, smooth maple neck with a rosewood fretboard. very eye-catching amber burst flame colouration. dual alvarez humbuckers with independant volumes and master tone controls. passive pickups. die cast chrome tuners, solid. somewhat fat feeling neck, but very comfortable, smooth. the guy at the music store threw in a hard case and a strap with it, but i think just to make the deal.

nice loud aggressive and full sound which i like very much because i play mostly hard rock music. i always play through ampeg amps, mostly with a svt-350h through a trace elliot 4x10 cab. not noisy at all really, especially not when compared to the active fender i got now. kind of a dark yet warm sound, like i said, aggressive, raw and growling when you want it. i'd say a very good live bass, stays in tune very well, loud and in yer face. not a tremendous amount of tone variation potential in this bass with its one tone control, but its basic sound is pretty good for rock music or even jazz/funk. i guess the thing i like most is its powerfull aggressive sound and look, while it's only real weakness is a lack of tonal variation.

everything is really solid on this bass. i have yet to notice any type of flaw in its construction/body. it feels nice and smooth and solid. fairly comfortable to play on. not too heavy.

i feel very confident in this bass's reliability. i've played several shows with it and feel it could stand up for a few hundred more. the strap buttons seem very solid. i havent' had to adjust anything on it yet. seems to be a very solid bass, feels very dependable.

i've been playing for around 5 years, mostly rock with some blues. like i said i play on ampeg amps, and usually ghs strings. i've recently got a fender zone bass with active pickups and i'm currently selling my alvarez. the only reason for this is i want to try active pickups and i'm starting to feel that the amber flame burst paint job is becoming too flashy for me, though it was what first lured me to the bass. overall a great bass for the price. you can hear me on it on my bands cd, order at www.geocities.com/interfaceband.
