Beleived to be an early-mid 70's P-bass copy. It was once a fretted instrument but had been 'defretted' very badly by a previous owner (haing a new ebony fingerboard fitted at the moment). A very smart looking bass with what I think is a Korina body- mahogany type grain but a maple colour(not stain!). It has a maple layer running through the body all around the edge which is a nice touch.Black scratchplate with a nickel plated hardware. The bridge is a basic two saddle job and tuners are Kluson style. All hardware has yellowed as nickel does and this adds to its vintage look. A single P type pickup which puts out more sound than any other passive pickup i've heard- its pretty unbelievable!Normal volume and tone controls and front mounted jack, and I think i'll add a mute switch just to save rolling the volume down at every pause. The bass is finished in a very thick, hard varnish which has lasted its 30 years very well. The neck is a similar profile so its very comfy and fits the hand well. Its plywood and varnished in the same stuff as the body.

Sound : 5
The bass doesnt give the typical fretless Waaah sound but it doesnt sound like a fretted bass either. Its a nice in between sound. It needs a 15inch speaker to make it sound really nice but my 2x10 cab is good enough. It give a very tinny, punk kinda sound with tone full on but with the tone rolled off its very boomy but quite smooth at the same time. Theres not much variety of sounds yet but round wound strings will make a difference. What do you expect from a bass that cost #40 anyway?!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The action was awful when I bought it but it hadnt had strings fitted for ages, this is being remedied at the moment. The bass feels very well built and is amazingly heavy!

Reliability/Durability : 10
This bass will withstand anything you throw at it- thick, heavy lump of a body and neck, bulletproof hardware etc etc. Its built for abuse!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Antoria went out of business 20 years ago so I dont think theyll be very co-operative!

Overall Rating : 9
Budget 70's mean machine with looks beyond its price and construction thats meant to last!
