Standard passive P/J bass pickups. 4 String, Late 80s/early 90s model. The body is styled after the P bass special. Everything is pretty standard except for the neck. The neck is ultra thin and not too wide either (between 1 1/2" and 1 5/8" at the nut). Nice maple neck with a rosewood fretboard, 22 frets. Generally, it has all a p/j bass needs, but not much more.

Sound : 6
Sound is interesting to say the least. The jazz pickup is all but useless on it (sounds like complete crap), but the P Bass pickup sounds great (Nice fat low and good highs). The bass does have a considerable amount of hum. I would never use this bass in a studio.... Gets a 6 just because of how crappy the J pickup is.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This is where this bass really shines. The action is to die for. Neck feels amazing! Finish was just simple black...

Reliability/Durability : 6
As much as I love the neck, it is poorly constructed. If you don't drop it ever, then the neck will be fine. The hardware is excellent and the strap buttons are solid. Neck needed to be adjusted seasonally (as with any bass). I have a habit of breaking E strings, so I never gig without a backup.

Customer Support : 1
Useless... utterly useless. When I contacted them about the neck on the bass, they couldn't even point me in the right direction for a comprable replacement. All that they could suggest was All Parts (which is not exactly something I couldn't have figured out on my own). They have none of the specifications for any of their old basses on file and no way of getting them. They couldn't name the supplier for the necks or anything that could possibly have been helpful. Don't bother calling them ever

Overall Rating : 8
Overall... great starter bass with an interesting sound when the precission pickup is used. I would use it a lot more if the neck wasn't broken and the j pickup was better and I didn't have a ric. Was my first bass.

EARLY 80S, I GOT THIS ONE A FEW YEARS AGO,P/J STYLE PASSIVE ELECTRONICS, VOLUME/TONE AND 3 WAY SWITCH, THE BODY IS PLYWOOD BUT FAIRLY STOUT, THE NECK IS PROBABLY THE BEST FEATURE, THIN, FAST, GOOD ACTION, TUNERS ARE SEALED CRAP,BRIDGE IS UNREMARKABLE STAMPED STEEL,THE FINISH IS SOME SORT OF STRANGE KOREAN POLYESTER RESIN STUFF, LOOKS LIKE IT WAS DIPPED IN LIQUID PLASTIC, SCRATCHES AND KNICKS WILL NOT BE POLISHED OUT OF THIS ONE!

Sound : 2
I HAVE USED IT MOSTLY FOR ALTERNATIVE/ROCK,WITH A ANCIENT PEAVEY 200 SERIES AMP HEAD AND TWIN (2X10,2X12) PEAVEY CABS, BOSS CHORUS (GREAT),MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS THAT IT IS A VERY NOISY GUITAR, THE PICKUPS BUZZ AND CRACKLE, THERE IS JUST NO GOOD SETTING FOR TONE THE P PICKUPS ARE OK WHEN USED ALONE, DUNNO HOW THE J PICKUP WORKS ONLY USED IT ONCE,(SOUNDED LIKE KITTENS BEING ROASTED ALIVE)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
AS PREVIOUSLY STATED, THE FINISH LOOKED GOOD WHEN IT WAS NEW,THEN I TOUCHED IT, AND THE TROUBLE STARTED, THE FINISH CHIPS EASILY AND SCRATCHES INSTANTLY, DO NOT GET A BLACK ONE!
OVERALL THIS IS AN EXCELLENT WALL ORNAMENT, OR I SUPPOSE YOU COULD SAW IT IN HALF AND MAKE BOOKENDS.....

Reliability/Durability : 2
AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH MUST I SAY IT AGAIN...NOT, I REPEAT NOT "RUGGED" WONT STAY IN TUNE, PICKUP SELECTOR SWITCH WAS REPLACED TWICE BEFORE I JUST BYPASSED IT, I WOULD NOT PLAY THIS GUITAR IN FRONT OF ANYONE I LIKE

Customer Support : No Opinion
DUNNO, DONT SPEAK KOREAN, DONT WANNA LEARN....IT WAS A LESSON

Overall Rating : 2
IF IT WERE LOST/STOLEN I WOULD PRAY FOR THE POOR BASTARD WHO TOOK IT, I WOULD NOT BUY IT AGAIN, I STILL LIKE THE STYLE AND THE NECK IS PLAYABLE....MAYBE I WILL REMOVE THE NECK AND THE REST OF IT AN ASHTRAY...I ALSO OWN A COUPLE OF PEAVEYS (FURY & FOUNDATION)THEY ARE GREAT, A WASHBURN,IBANEZ TR,AND A COUPLE OF OTHER PROJECTS, IT DOES NOT COMPARE WELL TO ANY OF THEM (INCLUDING THAT FRANKENSTIEN THING WE ASSEMBLED IN THE GARAGE OUT OF OLD FENDER MUSTANG/P-BASS/? PARTS)
