4 strings, probably a Poplar body, 22 fret, short scale.
It looks exactly like a Hofner.2 pick-ups, 3 tone switches, and two pick-up volume controls. Arch top violin shaped body finished in a tobacco sun-burst finish. It was made by teisco company in Japan for the Woolworth store chain in the early 60's, my guess is it's a 1965 or so. The funny thing is there is no serial number. but the neck is not a bolt on. Plenty of great features!
It is a dove tailed one piece neck joint just like a Gibson L-7 Jazz Guitar. It has totally passive electroncs, and a very fast and thin width neck. But not a thin depth neck, if you know what I mean.
The neck is beautiful ROSEWOOD, with clarinet bore oil, to bring out the striking grain patterns! I'm so sick of people giving Audition no respect. This bass is as good as any Fender, or Gibson.
It has a wood ebony arch top bridge, and really has great action and playability.
ibson model.

Sound : 9
it has that old 60's kind of sound.
Like you would get if you used a pick.
Dark, boomy and punchy.Like an old "Hondells" record. Every body does a double take, because it sounds like Paul McCartney so much.Only it's a right handed model...

FACTORY WHAT FACTORY??When i got ithe Audition Bass the action was way too high.I bought it at a japanese store called "hard goods price off"They are the best known and loved recycle and resale shop in all of Toyko. The Japanese salesman wanted 12000 yen.(118.00 dollors). I saw that one tuner was missing the finger thumb wingnut, I talked him down to 10000 yen. He said no. I then pointed out the imperfection, and he agreed on 11550yen, about 113 dollars.I brought it home and polished the body and oiled the fingerboard.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This bass can withstand any thing that comes in it's way. It's already lasted 40 years, what another 40 years to go.
Solid metal strap buttons. The Neck is absolutly perfect,
