I'm not sure but i guess it could be a 98 bass. Is an indonesian made bass with 20 frets and four strings. It has 2 volume and a tone, two j-pickups. active pickups. i guess its a maple neck. Its a blue tiger finish, and its like the jazz bass from fender. it came with a cable and strap.

Sound : 5
I play any kind of music, hard rock (system of a down, korn, adema, etc.), rock (red hot chili peppers, incubus, etc) and classic rock (Doors, hendrix, rolling), and it sound just regular. it noisy qhen i playes hard, it doesn't have a clean sound. ah and this bass can slap! the pickups have a poor sound for it..thats what anoyed me the most. but its ok for a beginner or for learn to play

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Inicially, the sound was great, but with the use it became bad. The pickups begin to distort the sound. and with the time, the neck began to curve so the wood was not so good.

Reliability/Durability : 3
I play with it live but i don't trust it very much. Sometime the sound it's so fat that sounds very noisy and i had problems with the pickups and the cable plug. THe finish seems to last but the problem is the electric stuff. Really i can depend on it so I only use it to practice with my band but for live and studio i have to borrow one.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I NEVER know about the company...I don't even know were the central is. I have the one year warranty for the store only.

Overall Rating : 5
i've been playing for olmost 4 years. I have played some other gear like squier basses, Samick and Ibanez. I buy it 'cause it was good looking, sound good and it was cheap. I would like to buy a 5-string Ibanez or a Yamaha. I like the finish and the look of a fender jazz. I hate that it cany slap.

Made in Indonesia

2-"J" style pickups, volume, tone, balance controls, adjustable bridge saddles. Passive electronics Black finish with white pick guard. 24 fret

Sound : 7
This bass is very punchy. The mids are quite prominent. I bought it to use in slap styles. My Fender Precision bass doe'nt slap worth a darn. This one slaps great. I run it through an outboard EQ and compresser to help it out but the unaltered sound is quite bright. These pickups are really hot!! ( in volume ) This bass puts out twice the volume of my Fender.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action was very well set up. Nice and low and the neck was flat and straight. Nice looking bass as well. It is fairly heavy ( about 2.3 the weight of the Fender )

Reliability/Durability : 9
The bass seems to be pretty bomber. I have been beating the heck out of it for 3 months without missing a beat. It does need to be tuned a little more often than I like but with the amount of slapping and banging it is not suprising. I use 2 basses during gigs and this is my primary slappin bass. In a pinch I can make it sound ok in other styles. As a backup bass it would be hard to beatfor the price. I would not have it as my only instrument because I frequently need to play in 6 different styles during a gig ( everything from funk and Jazz to heavy rock and ballads). I would reccomend this bass in about 3 styles only. So - if your playing range ( stylistically ) is limited it would be ok.

Customer Support : 9
I have had absolutely no problems with it - no need to contact the compay.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing bass for about 18 years. Both in the studio and live. I usually play my Fender Precision Bass ( American made ) and a Fender BX350 amp. I am currently using a Alesis 3060 compressor and a furman EQ in a rack. For effects I use a Danelectro octave ( chill dog ) and a multi effect box. I love the bright sound of the Biscayne and would replace if I could find one cheaply. Bang for the buck this one has everything beat. Buy one if you can but do not pay full retail price ( $249 ). I pay up to $140 to replace it.
