I bought this bass used in 1989 from a second hand music dealer. It has 4-strings and 22 frets, is solid top, red in color. It has 2 volume ane 1 tone control, 2 jazz pickups in the neck and bridge positions that are passive. I replaced the pickups about 3 years ago with Fender standard jazz pickups for more punch. The neck as far as I can tell is maple, the body has a bright red finish. The original bridge was a standard bass bridge plate with the usual spring/screw string intonation configuration. I replaced the bridge last year with a Badass 2 bridge. The bass has non-locking generic tuners and a long scale neck. No additional accessories were available at time of purchase.

Sound : 8
The overall sound from this bass is deep. I have used a variety of amps with this bass over the years and the sound has never been lacking. Currently I use a Fender Rumble 100 combo amp with a bass Crybaby, BOSS chorus and DOD Fuzz pedal. The only noise problem I ever had with this bass was an occasional string rattle on the pickups, but that was remedied when the bass was set up properly. As far as stage vs studio, I have had no issues with it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar was used when I got it but not set up properly. I had to adjust the pickups to my liking. The guitar has a small crack where the neck seats into the body, was there when I got it, not sure if it was factory defect or from the last owner.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This bass has proven itself over the years, and is still my primary bass. I have made some modifications and had to replace one tuner since 1989. the finish is still as bright as it was the day I bought it, aside from the usual wear and tear dings and dents. The strap buttons are original, although I had to re-drill the bottom button after is stripped out. I have never had to rely on a backup bass due to any performance flaws or issues beyond a broken string.

Customer Support : 1
I have never seen any type of customer service or support from this company, would love to find out more information about my particular bass. There was no warranty at time of purchase.

Overall Rating : 9
Overall this bass has been a satisfactory work horse. I own a few other basses, but this one is by far my favorite one. Maybe it's more a sentimental liking, but this bass has never let me down.

This is a pretty good bass. Not a lot of features but I think the ones that it does have are really good.

Sound : 9
This bass suits all styles of music. I play a lot of rock and funk and I think this bass is ok for slaping. I've seen better for slaping but this one's pretty good. I don't really use any effect but I like to use EQ a lot and it sounds even better with my Yamaha 31-band graphic EQ. Rich Full sound all around. Warm too. On stage or in studio, great bass.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The bass didn't come with any defects. It was great and still is great! Doesn't make noise when you turn all the nobs down either!

Reliability/Durability : 10
I use this bass for live playing a lot. Will not un tune unless you do it yourself. The finish will be there as long as you will and more!
The strap buttons feel like part of the bass; that's how sturdy they are. I could depend on this bass forever. This one was built to last.

Customer Support : 2
I've never heard of Bicayne customer support. They don't even have their own website. Too bad though. Didn't come with warranty.

Overall Rating : 9
1 intense musical year I've been playing bass. I wish it had active electronics but it still sounds good.

I think it eas made in Indonesia, but i'm not sure. Maybe is 97 or 98, it has 20 frets. It has a laminates top. It includes one volume and two tones. It has a basswood, not so thin. I like the finish, is a tiger black and blue. Is like a squier. it has the simple blridge,. it came with its gig bag and cable

Sound : 6
It is not suit so mich to my style...i play red hot chili peppers and korn, but is ok for non slap music. Ii'm using a marshall amp of 25.
It usually had bad sound when the volume is in a high way, but had a fine sound. It would be better if the slaping be good.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
It came well setting, was active. All was in a perfect condition, but the string qere so high and in bad quality. and the bass soud part i a bad condition

Reliability/Durability : 4
It has 4 or five presentations, the hardqare seem to last but has some defects. WToday the bass in finish is well but the electric system some days fail, has its bad days. I can totally trust it, but has been useful.

Customer Support : No Opinion
It has'nt a company who will fix it, no Biscayne support

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've beeb palying rfor nearly 2 years and i think i good at that, semi pro. I probably buy other label, maybe a ibanez or fender. I love about it that has been the first bass and until today has been useful. i hate that the slaping don't sound in a good way. i think is a bass for trrrrainers and for people to lke to learn, not for a pro or semi pro. Please, think it twice if ypu want to buy it, is good but there are betters things, buy a betters sound.
