5 string, neck-through bass with flamed-maple top. Bartolini sopabars and piezo pickup with stereo output. Three band active eq with mid boost /deep toggle switch, pickup blend, and magnetic/piezo volume. Super flexible sound options on this bass and the excellent book matched top get this a 10.

Sound : 10
Firstly, the Bartolini soapbars are the fullest and richest sounding pickups I have heard. The deep switch rounds out the sound without being too boomy. I don't use the piezo as it is too hot and bright for most uses (although one can be creative with it - I've run this as an aux out to my effects rack for additional soundscaping). It can be blended in to taste if you have a stereo preamp. Overall, this bass holds down the bottom end in recording and live sessions. No eq needed- I leave them 'flat' center detent.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guys at Brian Moore gave me the nicey-nicey on this one! I bought this one used from their factory. It was their demo model at the NAMM show. Gary at Crackerbox Music in Newburgh, NY does regular maintenance for me and he always raves about this instrument. With a proper set-up, this bass plays like a dream. The finish, while not perfect, is far above average for a factory bass. The book matched flame maple top is superb!

Reliability/Durability : 10
Everything is solid and stable. Truly gig worthy. This is my bass for life. The output jack is 'hidden' behind the straplock, which lends an extra safety factor to accidental unplugging. No more loose jacks!

Customer Support : No Opinion
I live nearby their factory and know some of the Brian Moore folks, so I have an "in." They are always friendly and helpful. I even got a tour! I guess it wouldn't be fair for me to rate their customer support since I don't have to go through the regular channels...

Overall Rating : 10
Well done Brian Moore! If stolen, my soul would weep. Definitely would buy a new one.
