I can't find a serial # on the bass. 28 frets, sparkle top, The controls are ok. I guess the guy above got and upside down or left hand pot for the pu selector whatever.... 2 pu's I don't know if they are HB- can't find much info on this bass...active/passive.....neck is maple--body ?????????..... original body style.... floating? bridge...... 90 degree tuners,,,looks like long scale f board recessed way down into the body to allow for all the frets. Bought it used. Could this be a copy of a custom 1 off bass?

Sound : No Opinion
haven't played it much yet but sounds better with active switched on. The electronics of some of these oriental(?) basses are not so great. I think I could make it sound better if I knew more about the electronics. There is some sort of plug in sound module in it. There's about 3 feet of wire stuffed in the cavity. They must have been in a hurry to not trim it down or they just didn't have a clue.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
action is okay.....pu's are screwed way down into the body.... the bass is basically a nice idea for a good bass but they didn't make it as well as a custom builder would have.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
no opinion I got it used and most people don't take care of cheaper instruments so I have alot of cleaning to do and adjusting and fixing dumb stuff that other people who know very little about basses do to them.

Customer Support : No Opinion
brownsville is gone-that's what I heard.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've been on bass for 35 or so years. I have alot of nice basses. This one could have been alot better I think.

I think the bass was made in Korea, it has 27 frets. There are four knobs, volume(passive and active)/pickup selector which I think came from the factory reversed (human error)/tone for regular volume/and the other knob cancels out when the volume knob is pushed in and turns into a second tone when the volume is pulled out. I don't know what kind of pickups are in the bass, but they are soap bar shape. The neck is either maple or ash and the body is mahogany. (once again I am going on sight because I bought it used).
The body is a jazz style, and the head stock is hollow with little lower gear ratio guitar tuners on it. The neck is slim for a five string, but from the g string to b string it is fat.

Sound : 9
The bass sounds very clear, a lot of tones can be heard well within harmonics and chords. The sound is rich and full and I can produce many different sounds and qualities, and not have any problems, The pickups are connected to the body and they provide many of the lower body tones, I know the bass sounds awesome on stage, and I hope the same in the studio. No dislikes

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The action was set up pretty good from the factory, the b string could be adjusted a little better, makes THAT noise when pulled to hard. The pickups were set up good to, but I reset the pickup clearence, and made the bass sound richer on the lower end. The passive/active switch makes a pop sound when pulled out, but when pushed and pulled back out little or no sound is made.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This bass (for me) has been very reilable, no problems. Although I bought it used I will probley have the rod tuned and the neck re-freted. The finish is great and the back is some kind of cherry wood finish (classy), looks like the back of the bass was carved out of my parents dinning room set. Some factory blemishes (i.e. glue spots), were fret board is sandwhiched to the neck, and on the tuner screws (that really sucks). The bass has survived my live shows, and the girlys like the sparkles.

the hazze wazeen bass is made by brownsville. or is it eagle instruments? my headstock has bville labels on it, but i've only seen them on the web as eagles (what's with that). it's got a ridiculously funny/cool gold sparkle finish. cool body shape. mahogany boy/rosewood fboard. two humbucking pickups of presumably stock origin. active/passive push-pull knob, and 3 other knobs which i guess are pickup selector and tone. i have no idea when it was made (probably y2k), but it was made in korea. snazzy-looking bass, and that's about the only positive i have for this bass, sadly.

Sound : 3
nothing very impressive about the sound. the active settings will blow your ears away unnecessarily. just..blah, and this was confirmed by a bass-playing colleague who loathes the sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
the intonation on the thing is just awful. it went way off the first night i was playing it- straight out of the box. and i've heard reports of the intonation going out while it was being tried in the store. also, the metal top of the headstock was vibrating a lot when i first played it. really annoying.

Reliability/Durability : 5
it could probably withstand the live playing, but god, that lousy intonation....makes you almost want to smash the guitar apart. otherwise, reasonably stable-looking.

this is the perfect bass for a guitar player who wants to learn how to play bass on a cheesy, inexpensive, but way-cool-looking instrument, and knows what he/she's paying for. other than that, i would suggest you look elsewhere. fender jazz this ain't, but if that's ok with you, then maybe you'll dig this bass.
