I bought it new and have only had it for about a year.
A fantastic sounding bass. The open B has the best sound i've heard on any 5 string bass. Something that rumbles the foundations. Doesn't sound numb like most do. If your a fast player then you'll love the neck. One of the slimmest I could find as I don't like chunky necks as I like to be able to get my whole hand round.

I love the tones, the feel and the real LOW growel you get from this bass. Tha active EQ lets you get all the tones you need from funk mid twang to out and out shake your grannys teeth out.

Top notch

Just watch the knocks. If you don't look after it it will mark.

I have my new B5 which is made in Korea(2005). It has 24 frets an 5 strings. The best part of the bass for me is the neck. Also the b5 has 5 strings, it can be played as easily as 4 string basses and its an advantage for guys who had small fingers like me :)
b5 has master volume, pick up control and 3 band EQ. And the best thing on that bass is the electronics(active). Bartolini MK1 preamp and pickups make you feel the way you play. I play rock and funk and it suits both. and hipshot tuners are perfect. when you think that bass piece by piece it costs more :)

I play funk and rock and it suits with both. Before that bass i used compressor but after b5, i start to get in amp directly. It has no deep sound.and the tone depends onn you. you can get great slap tones and also a cool bass tone with hig mid volume up. 3 band EQ comes with you wherever you go.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10

First of all I must say this is an amazing bass. I bought it for $900 Canadian dollars. This bass was made in 2004 in Korea. It has 24 frets, 5 strings and a beautful mahogany finish. It has Volume, Balance, High, Mid, Low and an active/passive switch. The pickups are awsome. They are the specially designed Bartolini Mk1 soapbar pickup with the Mk1 EQ. The body is a beutiful mahogany and the neck is an african wenge wood neck. It has a natural finish so it gets dinged very easily. You need to take care of it. The body style is awsome, I love it, it fits your body perfect. It is a korean made bass which I like a lot. The korean Artisan Basses have two better features. They have the Active/Passive swich and what I think to be an easier bridge to use. I have heard complaints about the fortress bridge. This bridge is more like the C5p fishman bridge, which is one hunk of a bridge. The neck is a good size for a 5-string. I played the Cort GB35 bass and the neck was as big as a six string. This neck is not too big not too small. I sugest buying a hardshell case for this bass because it is fragile. The guy at my dealer through a hardshell in for an extra $20. I also suggest getting a strap with the locks because the strap buttons are very small. My bass also came with two allan wrenches to fix the trus rod and string height.

I play every kind of music and this bass is perfect for that. The built in EQ is awsome and gives so many different tones. I have a $#!+ box Peavy and it still sounds amazing. I have had no noise on active or passive. The volume goes down when you swich to passive but this may be good for what you may be playing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The string height was a little low at the head and high at the higher frets but that can be fixed. The bass is so beautiful but has nothing to protect it so be careful. Any bump and you have a dent, so be very careful

Reliability/Durability : 9
I havent had the bass for a very long time so i can not be positive. It is fine if you just be careful. Always putting it back in a hard shell case and have a guitar stand if you have two or more basses. As I said before the strap buttons are small so get a locking strap. You should always have a backup but this bass holds its own.

The US web site hasnt been updated in 2 years so that makes me mad. I usually go to the english Korean website for info. I havent had any problems so I wouldnt know. The Canadian dealer did ship it across Canada in ten days from being ordered from the local music store.

I havent beed playing very long but I know alot about basses. I have reaserched for so long and this came to be the best bass for me. I'm glad I got the Korean Bass. Cort's main factories are in Korea and it was started there. If it was stolen I would buy it again. Amazing Bass
