24 fretted. Im sure that only the LTD edition comes with this walnut finish, but i have to say it really is something special. all the controls etc are listed below. except the push/pull passive active switch. double MightyMite soapbar pickups, bridge pickup nice and high to contribute for lack of volume. (still not as loud as the neck but thats to be expected) Also specifically to the LTD edition is a rediculously fast Wenga wood neck.

I dont tend to stick to one style of playing for very long, but usually stick to a deep rock, blues tone, which the cort caters for beautifully. with only the neck pickup selcted and active circuitry on, the cort produces that deep rumble that a j bass perhaps misses out on. bout then drop in the bridge pickup aswell and knock up the treble and you get that wonderful (dare i say?) twang that youd expect from a pbass that cuts through music mixes wonderfully.as with most double pickups i wouldnt use the bridge on its own, its simply no loud enough, however louder than most ive heard to date.
Unlike most relativly complicated basses, the C4 also has a beautifully rounded slap tone, unfortunatly it simply cant compete with the fenders, but considering the price your going to have to pay for one of those, the C4 is more than capable.
ive used the C4 for some studio work, and thats where the active/passive switch really comes into its own, with the bass/treble cut and boost you can get near enough any tone you need.

Ive not had any problems personally, but a friend of mine did find himself minus a strap button due to poor fitting. however the finish of the walnut was unbelievable. it was one of those basses that hits you as soon as you walk into the shop.
also the action was a little high, and getting to the truss rod for adjusting wasnt the easiest ive dealt with!

Reliability/Durability : 7
ive played a couple of times live with this bass, never had any complaints, although i do have to be picky with what leads i use, it seems some are ever so slightly thinner than others, and the cort only seems to like the thicker ones (i played with a vintage fender lead and actually had to duct tape it to my bass for half a gig! embarresing...) but im willing to lay blame on poor choice of lead for that. maybe.
and as stated above, not personally, but a C4 straplock has come out before.

standard warrenty, havnt had any problems.

ive been playing for about 3 years now, and own a mexican jazz and a cheapo pbass (old faithful encore!) and the Cort has its pros and cons. once again that finish is beautiful, and the dark brown wenga wood neck compliments it perfectly. But im not sure how it stacks up against things like the epiphone t-bird and mexican p, i think its deffinatly more versatile tonally, but if it were stolen id deffinatly consider the other two.

Like the guy above me, I'm not totally sure of the year on mine, but it's pretty recent. I bought mine new in-store for $699 Australian, and I got the two active soap-bar pickup, fretted version. It has 4 knobs, two for the volume of each pickup, one for treble cut/boost, and the other for bass cut/boost. This bass is a dream to play, with a nice thin neck and slimline body (I used to play ONLY Ibanez guitars, so its a nice touch for me).

As mentioned above, the bridge gives you so much sustain its almost not funny, but it DOES take some getting used to to adjust it. Tuners are a "t-shape", and won't slip on you, no matter what. Compared to other basses I've played (Squires, Peaveys and even some 'real' Fenders), this bass is a dream to play. Nicely ballanced, so it doesn't try to attack your feet if you lean over or anything.

I play mostly punk/metal/classic rock, and this bass is perfect for all of them. Just tweak the active EQ settings a bit, and you can have it sounding sharp and 'twangy' (for a bit of punk or some metal) or deep rich and mellow, for whatever else you want to play. I plug in the distrotion (big muff) and crank it up a bit, and this thing sounds like a beast, especially with some wah in the mix.

Only complaint is that although this bass is a dream to slap, getting the right sound for it takes a bit of tweaking, but, I guess it's worth it.

When I got it, action was set up perfectly, haven't had to touch it in that way, only thing that I may have trouble with is when changing the pickup battery, you have to unscrew the back plate to get at it. This COULD lead to stripping out the screw holes, but as long as you are careful, you should be alright in this regard. My bass has a sleek black, almost satin-y finish, although I would like a different coul scheme, as it looks a bit bland. Guess it's my fault for choosing it though.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've played local bars and pubs with this beauty, as well as the local skate parks a few times, and it hasn't let me down yet. No matter what you do to it in transit, the tuning won't slip or tighten, only thing is, just watch you temperature, as that will cause the strings to tighten/slacken (but you already knew that)

Never had to deal with them

I love my C4.....

Though I am not sure of the year, it is pretty recent. I bought it used on eBay, but it looked pretty mint when it arrived. I have the fretted model, basswood body and hard maple neck with a nifty thin-profile that plays like a dream. This model comes with two Bartolini active soapbar pickups controlled by one of the knobs, a two knob EQ and one volume. This bass has a lot of bottom, but can also play light and punchy. Mine has the gloss finish which looks sharp. There is also that interesting Fortress bridge, which pushes the sustain, but takes a while to learn how to adjust. It has nice die-cast tuners that stay put. It is way above my old P-bass in range of sound and playability. Even my 13 year-old has no trouble handling it (he only weighs 100 lbs!).

I play blues, classic rock and some occasional gospel, and it works for all of them. I do not abuse my bass when playing live. I use a straight forward Peavey Basic amp with no effects except a volume pedal, and this bass is amazing. It can hang in the back or punch out front and works well for slap-style playing. The neck, being thin, needs some adjusting when exposed to drastic changes in weather/humidity, but this is easy to do (if you know how...).

I am not sure if this was played much before I got it, but it was set up nicely when I bought it, and has not needed any adjusting. I recommend flat-wound strings. I have had no problems in over 1.5 years (get a hardshell case).

Reliability/Durability : 9
As I said before, it has held up extremely well.

Haven't had to deal with 'em.

I would get it again. This works for both a seasoned player and a beginner. If you see one of these at a good price, go for it.
