80's Jazz Bass Clone... I have owned a Fender MIM Jazz Bass and this one sounded better... The pickups were in somewhat rough shape and the neck had some riffles, but it had the vintage look of a Fender Jazz Bass (Black with white pickguard)... I did replace the neck with an aluminum-reinforced Vacarro neck which improved this bass guitar and made it into a serious "player" bass...

I have owned a Fender MIM Jazz Bass and the sound of this bass blew it away, even though the pickups were well used and a little corroded.. I was able to get a very wide range of tone just using the standard tone pot... I loved the warm, rich tone from these pickups...

Of course when I got this bass it was 20 years old and played plenty... However, the body, which was a very solid (and heavy) wood, took the 20-plus years of use very well.. I chalk it up to "character"... The pickup height needed to be adjusted and I replaced the neck with an aluminum-reinforced Vacarro neck which added killer sustain... It also stays in tune forever now...

I have let professional musicians play this bass and I have received most favorable comments... With the Vacarro neck, I think I could "go to war" with this bass and it would survive a nuclear attack...

I've emailed Cort before on another guitar and never heard back from them, so I do not know if they support their products or not...

I have been playing bass for about 5 years now and own 10 basses... This would be the bass I would choose to take with me to a desert Island or to war with me... I would feel comfortable using this as my only bass at a gig... It is now one of a kind with the Vacarro neck and I would not hesitate to buy a Cort Jazz Bass copy whenever, wherever...

Early 1980s Cort Jazz bass copy.Probably made overseas somewhere. It's got 20 frets on a bound maple neck and board. Also has block white(pearlish) block inlays. The body wood is unknown but i do know one thing-It's heavy as hell! This bass must weigh in at around 12 lbs or so. The color is a dark brown sunburst with a really thick shiny finish. It's got single coils and the usual volume/volume/tone setup. The bridge is a 2 saddle adjustable(somewhat) hunk of metal. The original tuners were low quality and rattled and buzzed and would constantly slip. I installed some good heavy duty vintage gears that not only work better but look 100% better as well. I also put on a Fender tortoiseshell guard(had to cut it a lil bit cause the neck joints a different size as well as the body shape being larger). With the few addons I've done to this beast it changed into one hardy workhorse-built like a tank.

These pickups are so hot that they're microphonic. But in actuality, this bass sounds more Fenderish than the Fenders that are being built now. Both pickups on full with the treble cranked yields one funked out crispy jazz bass tone. I was thoroughly impressed. With just the neck pickup on the tone is real wide and funky. The bridge pickup sounds good too but both combined on full has such a cutting and growly tone i keep the controls on that.

The bass was in horrible shape but I got the action down, the frets not as buzzy and slapped on some Thomastik-Infeld jazz flats. These strings are the best;old-school tones abound. They really can add on to the tone of any bass. The body's got some some dents and dings but is holding up well for being 20 plus years old.

I tried to turn this beast into a semi-beauty. The color is drab but pretty cool and retro. Slapping and popping is the way to play on this funk machine. After my improvements (which anyone could do) this bass has proved to be one of my favorites. The tone is noisy but so purely funked out and aggressive. Makes me feel like I'm Larry Graham........or maybe not. I had a Foto-Flame Fender Jazz from Japan and its tone pales in comparison-as well as its durablility. The Foto-flames pickups crapped out on me after a year. So I dismembered it for parts. These Corts are'nt often seen and I'm sure theres a million other import jazz copies out there, vintage or not, but i love this thing. Maybe its the age, maybe the weight , i don't know, but the tone and durability of this instrument is UNDENIABLE!

This is a 1980 jazz bass copy. It has 21 frets and a maple neck and fretboard. Bodywood I believe is a very heavy hardwood. It's slightly larger than all other real jazz basses, and has a lot more punch to it. I am a little guy, but I like a bass that I can really throw around (I am in a punk-metal-rock band which I use this one for). It's nice, haven't had a problem yet.

It's the best bass I've heard for the stuff I play. I use a marshall bass amp and no effects. The perfect blend of low sound and high punch. This bass does a great job imitating all others I've tried except for like jazz and funk style music.

The Action is great on it. I had to do a ton of intonating, but now that it's set, it stays. screws were a little rusty (previous owner didn't take care of it.

This bass could be dropped off of the CN tower, and would survive, and still play great.
