Well I got this bass off of ebay brand new for about $450. I really like the range I have on this bass with the six strings. The fortress bass is kind of a pain when doing the action (the adjustment nuts are under the string!) I recommend bring it to a music store to have action raised or lowered. The tuners are nice and I like the bartolini pickups. One problem I have with the body is that I can't reach the top lower frets 20-24 easily. I would prefer a lower cut better.

I like the sound I get out of the song. The treble is a bit twangy and the bass is a good sound but when compared to other multi string basses the B just doesn't have that nice deep tone I love. It's too dull and doesn't have much pep(bad word)

The only thing I had wrong with it was that one of the cover screws for the truss rods was missing. Other than that it was in perfect condition. I love the glossy finish that allows me to play fast. I keep the bass in a gig bag and it always gets out of tune when I carry it around I recommend a hardshell if your considering to buy this bass.

Reliability/Durability : 5
Very reliable bass, but carry extra batteries because this does have active pickups. It sucks when they die =). The only beef is that he body is a bit big and this is one bulky bass. It weighs a ton. I've had a few problems with my left shoulder because it weighs so much and i love playing with friends and playing live (standing up) and it gets real sore real fast. So if you don't got real strong shoulders this may not be for you. As forenoted by a previous owner it was probably more of a studio bass, not meant to played standing up a lot. The big body makes up good tone.

Customer Support : No Opinion

I've been playing for 2-3 years and I've owned a washburn bass, the neck bent out of shape after a year. I don't know why possibly climate conditions. I wanted an affordable 6 string bass and I got one. I got no gripe against the price I paid an excellent price. If your wondering if you want to have a multi string bass try this one first to see if you'd like it. I personally want a Peavey Cirrus, I haven't checked up on the weight of the bass but we'll see.

i bought this cort artisan 6 string for close to 789$(lists at 1095) i got a a gig bag strap and cord included all due to alil chip off the brass nut but hardly noticable. the neck thru maple-wenge stripes and fingerboard gives the bass alot of mids warm lows and brights. the tuners are great last timed i tuned my bass was about 2 weeks ago im not sure of the brand name though.the bartolini active preamp is great just alil tweaking of the knob here and there can save me the extra energy from doing through the amp.

i like alot of mid range on a bass.i moslty play this bass for jam sessions and my jazz class. the tone is very distinitive so i can be heard in studio or live. the bass get alil noisy if i have the treble ands mids boosted all the way up but ussually this bass is queit. i use a harkte b-90 with a dean markly k-15b and i aswell use a zoom bfx708 boss overdrive chorus and digital delay with a tubersream 5 guitar distoroin.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
the action is very low and great the fortress bridge is great band provides great sustian the b string isn't the best but after playing on it for a couple of months you get used to it. the only flaw that i have with the bass is the nut witch is chipped when it got shipped but i got a great deal out of that lil chip.

Reliability/Durability : 9
i personnally think this bass is used for studio work mainly but can be used on stage aswell. the hardwell will forsure last. the bass is laminated so i can pretty much move up and down the flat neck pretty fast. i havent had the need for a truss rod or action setup since i bought witch was back in august. if i did use this bass for a gig i think i would get by without a backup.

Customer Support : 10
i got a lifetime warranty so thats pretty cool.

ive been playing for about 3 1/2 yrs(started when i was 14) my first bass was a slamer and my 2nd was a cort action and this is my first review i have done on a bass so i hope i was helpfull. this bass is a definate upgrade and i think that il hold off for awhile. i would problay cry and then die if this bass was stolen i love it so much. the only thing i dont like is that the b string is kinda of floppy or sometimes i dont get much tone for the b string jsut a bassy sound. i compared this bass to the ibanez btb 6 string(it was a btb but not sure of the exact model name) and the sr406 the dean edge 6string and a pedulla 6 string bass. i wouldve bought the pedulla but that price is way out of my price range. all in all im very pleased and happy with the cort artisan 6 string.
