I bought this second or third or fourth hand. I don't know what year
it is or where is was made. It have 20 frets, 4 strings. I don't
know much about this bass, but it kicks ass!!!.
I paid 30 dollars for it from a kid from Brooklyn, NY.
In 1971 I bought a Gibson EB3 from a pawn shop in L.A. I played that
for a couple of years and then bought a Fender Jazz Bass that was
second hand from a guitar shop in West L.A. I played that for years.
All I can say is this Cort Performer Series bass puts both the Gibson
and Fender to shame. The action is superior. I love this bass
and play it every night.
Unlike the Fender Jazz Bass, the Cort plays easy. You can play for
hours and it doesn't stress your hands. It is so smooth.
I definately scored with the purchase of the Cort.
It sounds great too. If you want to upgrade the pickups, that's fine.
I'm happy with the pickups that it came with.
Sound

I play mostly with a Pocket Rocket. I put the headphones on and play
away. I also have a Sound Feeder which allows you to remotely play
into an FM stereo. I play into a Sony 50 CD changer using the FM and
it sounds great.
I can make it sound anyway I want. I can't really write in words how
happy I am with this bass.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

The action is fantastic. Again, better than any Fender I have ever
played. On the 20th fret, it is still smooth. Try that with a Fender
Jazz bass.
It stays in tune for ever. Solid tuners. The hardware still shines
even though it hasn't been pampered. Definately solidly built.
Reliability/Durability

This bass would survive a bomb attack. The hardware is solid. The
strap buttons are rock solid. Never any need to adjust anything.
The finish is great. It has a bunch of small scratches if you look
close, but no gouges. It looks great from a distance. It you want
premium wood or great looks, look elsewhere. But if you want a rock
solid bass with the greatest action I have ever seen, you can't go
wrong with this baby.

I am 48 years old and have been playing since I was 12. I started with
an acoustic guitar and bought my first bass (Gibson EB3) at age 17.
I you want a curly maple finish or anything like that, go ahead and
spend thousands. But if you want a great player, you can't go wrong
with the Cort Performer Series Bass.
The most important feature in a bass, is playability. This has it.
If you want to upgrade the pickups, that's easy. Just put some top
of the line pickups in this bass, and you are good to go.
I've played Hoffner, Fender Jazz, Fender Precision, Gibson this and
Gibson that, and about 20 other expensive basses. As far as bang for
the buck, this bass rules!!!!!
