Features : 10
Bought this new from a local store that is no longer dealing Daisy Rock Guitars (actually seems like a lot of businesses are doing this right now, from what I understand since everyone else is offering pink guitars, Daisy Rock's gimmick is wearing off...that's what the owner told me anyway).

Body mahogany
Bridge/Tremolo combination
Case Included No
Electronics master volume, 12db bass cut/boost, 12db trable cut/boost, pickup pan pot
Fingerboard Rosewood
Frets 21
Hardware Chrome
Inlays piano keys
Machine Heads grover
Neck Joint Set Neck
Neck Material mahogony
Pickups daisy rock bass humbuckers with active EQ
Scale 32"
Top pearloid top

As far as features go...see above. I would have preferred a more traditional 2 Volume 2 Tone knob setup, the 1 master volume, 1 pickup pan, one low cut/boost, and one high cut/boost setup just seems odd to me, something I could have lived without. Theoretically though, this is a more flexible setup than what I would have preferred, so I shouldn't complain I guess, just takes some getting used to, and I don't really like EQ boosts anyway. For the record, the EQs do work and sound fine...just something I take care of on the amp not the guitar. I guess I don't know what use the master volume control is...I just leave it all the way up. Can't go wrong with Grover tuners, though the default strings are rather light to my hands, I suppose I am not the intended audience. Yes, I am a guy but I'm only 5'8" so I can't comfortably play a big Fender bass. Neck is very slim, which I like a lot because my hands are fairly small compared to most adult men. This is BY FAR the most comfortable bass I have ever played...it actually feels like it fits me.

Color choices are kinda ugly, I think even girls might question them. I got the violet burst, which is kind of a purple outline with a light yellow sparkle inside it. I think Daisy Rock would be better off with something less weird, but for this price if you really don't like it then you can afford to have it redone. I'm keeping mine ugly, because it matches my other bass (which is a lemon souffle color, custom work).

I can't really think of any other features a bass could possibly need so I'll give it a 10.

Sound : 10
Sound is where Daisy Rock is a big winner here, and a main influence in my purchase. Both pickups have a lot of punch and depth to them, this is a very modern sounding bass. The tone is very "clear" without EQ, not muddy at all. I think the neck pickup is lacking a bit in the low-end department, but I suppose that would be why the low EQ boost is on the guitar. Throwing some heavier strings on this axe would probably do the trick also, but I haven't had time yet. Towards the upper frets the guitar starts to sound something like an upright, slightly muffled highs, very sweet sounding to my ears. I would have liked to see Daisy Rock maybe make a fretless version of this axe, but I don't think it'd sell.

I tried this bass from clean to heavily distorted, and it is definitely capable of producing just about anything you want, combined with the right strings, amplifier/effects, and careful use of the EQs and pickup selector.

If you can't get "your" tone out of this bass then something must be wrong with your amp or something, soundwise this would be great for all use (though I suppose metalheads would look silly playing it), so I'm giving it a 10.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I bought this from a store, so I don't know how long its been hanging on the wall, though I know for a fact its then there at least a few months. I'm assuming it hasn't been setup since it arrived there. The intonation needed adjusting, which didn't take too much time on my part. The bass does have a little bit of buzzing issues in the upper register, which I'll adjust when I put some new strings on it. Action is low and easy, works for me. Pickup selector is slightly noisy, but that could just be because its not been used very much. There is a little bit of visible glue where the neck meets the body, but its not too bad. Otherwise there are no dings/scratches, which either means noone used it at the store or its pretty durable. No other flaws that I can find.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It seems pretty durable, knobs seem secure, tuners good, bridge good, strap buttons good...I would gig it for sure (most likely as my primary instrument). I think you'd be silly to gig without a backup, but if I were to do so, I'd probably trust this bass more than others in this price range.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't dealt with them, though I may send it back to them for a setup and to fix the noisy pickup selector if it doesn't resolve itself, as to not void the warranty while I still have one.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've been playing guitar for about 6 years, bass for 4 years, owned several different axes (all under $1000). This is actually the first axe I've bought from a store, all others have been online purchases from Rondomusic.com. I have been interested in Daisy Rock Guitars since I first played one, because they are very impressive guitars in this price range, especially compared to your other options (MIM Fenders, Squires, Epiphones). At the msrp of $550 (street is more like $399), I still think this bass competes very well with other bigger brands without hiccup. I trust this a lot more than I trust any of the other name brands for that money. But then I got this 1/2 off because the store isn't selling Daisy Rock's anymore, so at $275 this is a STEAL. Noone makes a bass this good for twice that.
