body is decent, neck is strong, not completely balanced it does fall if you take ur left hand off. The tuners are average, the split P pickup is nice and can produce some nice deep sounds, the J-style pickup is not all that useful, however there is a pickup blend knob that helps with getting that specific sound.

Sound : No Opinion

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Played it for two or three years right out of the box without having it set up!!!

Reliability/Durability : 9
Ok, so this isn't the best bass in the world, but I have played mine for about 5 years. I play it every week and have beat the heck out of it and only had it set up and adjusted once in that time. Everything on it lasted amazigly well for that time. It is very durable and for the money you wont find one that has a body that holds up any better. Recently after those five years of frequent use, the pickups are starting to basically just die on me. Not really sure whats happening but the fluctuate a little in their output.

Well they were bought by Fender and now don't exist.

Overall Rating : 8
Well I give it an 8 because I prolly would never give anything a 10 and so 9 is my very best rating. Overall, this bass is a GREAT bass for beginner to intermediate. I have been playing for 6 or 7 years and this was my first bass. I am now upgrading and havent decided if I am keeping this one as a back up. Anyway, these things are durable and have great sound far above other basses in this price range. Mine was probably a 2000 model or so. DeArmond doesnt exist anymore but if you want a beginner-intermediate bass, try to find one of these.

Two pickups, one p and one j. Pickup selection knob, tone and volume. Cool body.

Sound : 7
Sound is alright. Very good "bass" sound. Also has good high end. Middle end sounds like crap.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
when i got the bass, I had to put it together. I got it from musicians friend when they discontinued it and the pickups came in a plastic bag.

Reliability/Durability : 5
I've used this bass for about 2 years now and have not had any sound problems. I did however lose two knobs (which I replaced with fernadez darth vader knobs) and the strap buttons fall off.

In all I guess its a good bass. I'm getting sick of it so I just bought a essex fretless jazz bass. It serves its purpose though, I play in a church P&W band that plays every style of music you can imagine. I use it mostly for just straight bass sound but it sounds good playing slap bass through a hartke 4x10 transporter cab with a peavey bass head. Also used this bass to record two cd's.

34" Scale, 22 fretted slim neck, more towords a J-Bass neck. Great fast action on here. Rosewood on Maple I believe. Single Coil P and J pickup array. Volume, tone, blend knobs.

Sound : 10
I play in a punk band, and I bought this guitar because it was cheap. Wow, this thing amazed me when I tried it out on the Mesa Head and cab at Guitar Center, and was equally amazing on my Crate BX50 and even made my shitty Rogue amp sound good. The best guitar you can get for the price range, IMO. Much better than a squier or Rogue as an entry level bass to intermediate.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Pretty good, I got mine as a floor special from Guitar center, it had minor scratches (lousy Guitar center employees :-)

Reliability/Durability : 9
The only thing I've noticed is that the strap knob thingies came loose. A dot of super glue fixed that. I've had it for a few months, and it's not need any adjustment (except for tuning of course)

Well, DeArmond is owned by Fender. So.....yeah.

Overall Rating : 9
You know, this was my second bass, and I'm ready to throw my Squier out the window. This thing gives great sound, and you can find them cheaper than almost all other Fender basses. Musicians Friend has them for $100 which is what I paid, which is insanely cut from the list price, and half of what ZZounds.com is selling them for. I never played the original Guild Pilot, but I like this one so much anyway.

Nice beg./intermediate bass. You could gig with it,too. 34" scale neck, 22 frets, rosewood fretboard. One split P pickup and underneath it, a single pickup. It has one volume, and I believe 2 tone controls, one for each pickup. Or maybe one acts as a tone booster. Still tweaking with it. Mine has a black finish. Very lightweight, body made of agathis, or ash. Tuners are stable, good, stock. Thin, fast neck. Came with Allen wrenches....

Sound : 10
Sounds very decent. Because of the action setup, very funky and slapping effects can be achieved. NOT noisy. Good booming bass and higher end trebly sounds can be gotten. This is too cool!!!!!!!!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Sent to me, the action was near perfect. Very comfortable, low action. Everything was adjusted fine. NO flaws whatsoever....

Reliability/Durability : 7
Since it is lightweight, the concern would be how well it would hold up if your playing like Flea, or slapping style, aggresively. So, I'd say it would be ok, but only experience will tell. Finish, strap buttons reliable. Dependable, but onstage playing will determine.......

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had to. Connected to Fender, so I suppose it would be good customer support....

Wanted to spend a few hundred bucks on a decent, intermediate, reliable bass and didn't have to after all!!! This lists at $349.95 but could be bought for around $200 most places. Or $100 at M.F.!!!!!! Reviewed the Harmony bass, P copy here at H.C. That's ok; I sanded it down so the black finish is gone and it is the plywood natural finish. I also put those old Dimarzios in, and it sounds good. So, now I have a "traditional sounding bass" in the Harmony for recording, and this bad boy for funk and new rock sounds. Happy to have a decent bass at an even more decent price....
