Active electronics in a sub-$200 bass? 4 tone/volume controls on the bass. 9v battery access on back of the guitar. The neck is thin and feels great. The bass has some heft to it compared to my old beater. It has a nice solid feel.

The active electronics sound great. I was able to dial in my sound pretty quickly. I have played it both with "Guitar Rig" and clean directly with an amp. It sounds incredible for the price. Nice fat even tone across all 4 strings (something I was missing on my last bass).

People have commented on the finish. I just got mine yesterday - it seems fine to me. I don't plan on dropping it to prove them wrong. Black on black hardware looks great. It looks awesome.
It did come from MF with fingerprints all over it and a fair amount of dust on/in the bridge. Wasn't sure what that was about.
Action is great, I get a little buzz on the bottom string - but nothing I can't fix.

I have no reason to doubt the reliability of the bass. It "seems" solid. Only time will tell.

If you are a beginner, intermediate, or cash strapped bass player. This one is for you. If you have $600+ to spend on a Bass, I'm sure that there are better ones out there.
This is a great looking, great feeling, awesome sounding bass with active electronics for dirt cheap. It blows away everything in it's price range. Do not hesitate if you are even considering this one.
