Excellent sound! I play an array of music from blues, rock, metal, and funk and this bass can handle them all! I started woth my amp flatlined EQ and made very minimal adjustments. From bright punchy slap to bottom of the pond muddy! Electronics are super quiet all the way through the range. I play it through a Peavey TNT150 for practice and through a Carvin BX1200 with 8 10's With a boss GT-6B for effects live. Every application I've tried I have been extremely impressed. Ive even gone direct to the board and needed no DI box.

I bought this second hand and dont know if it had ever been adjusted, Had to adjust the truss and the action needed to be brought way down. I think that Dean could look imto making the bridge drop a little lower I think that the action could still come down more, but Im bottomed out. But of course I dont pop and slap too much so it maybe fine if you play that way alot. All the hardware and finish seem to be solid enough for full time gigging and have no complaints there.

I'd jam this machine anywhere, anytime. Its built well enough to withstand sustained abuse in any live situation. The hardware is great, the finish is lasting so far (and I live in south Louisiana...HUMID!!!) Ive put strap locks on it because I trust no strap or non locking button. I would probably gig without a back up if I had to, but I beleive in murphy's law so I carry a back up everywhere.

Ive been playing bass for I guess about 19 or 20 years. My gear includes This Dean Q6, a Peavey TL-5 (check the reviews), and a Peavey TL-20 that I started on. I've played many others, Fender J's, Spectors, Tobias, and this is the bass for me and my sound. If it were stolen or lost I'd deffinately go off and buy another, and plan to buy 2 more anyway. I love the extremes of sound I can get from it bright nuthin but treble to a nearly inaudible rumble from the depths. Favorite thing about this bass is that it is the gigging bassist bass. It'll hold up under pressure and abuse and the sound is phenomenal. And you dont have to take out a second mortgage on the house to pick one up!

I have my black see through lacked Dean now for allmost 6 years. I think it is gorgeous.
It has EMG active pickups.

It will never sound like a Musicman. But it has it's own sound, wich is great.

This basguitar has never been changed. It was factory tuned and still is. I own about 6 guitars, have two bassguitars and have done alot of work on all of them. Except this Dean. It is fantastic.

It is built very firmly. Withstanding the pull of six bass strings aint something to be taken for granted. It does this job very well. And supplies me with TONE.

It has never been repaired. No need. Great build quality. Since this was my weddingpresent (of my wife to me) it will never leave my collection. And it looks like it will last.
I like the fact they have a forum. So i'll give em a 9 for that effort.

It's a great bass. I play it with Trace elliot. Allthough I think it would do better on AMPEG. Wich I will get in time.
It's a great bass. And it challenges me to play better everytime.

Gorgious bass (i know i spelled that wrong, shut up). Made in Korea and its a 2003 or 2004 model.
24 frets
EMG-HZ active pickups (kinda odd when u consider those are pasive and they could hace just used a diefferent EMG but it sounds great)
Basswood body with maple and mahogany neck
Mine has a beautiful transparent blue finish on a quilted maple top
grover tuners
ITS AWSOME!!!!

Sounds great. my 80 watt peavy has an annoying humming sound, but i know its not the guitar because it made it sound better than all my other humming basses (wich dont humm). Nice full punchy sound for any style.

This bass can do anything you could want. The hardware is nice and i dont think it will ever mess up (well they all wear out eventually). I would use it as my main bass, and for a backup, i would have another dean (if i used one)

He's got looks allright!
It only has one small little scratch.
But overall it looks beautifull...
Pickups are very good adjusted, and the marleaux bridge also.
The bass is in top condition...

The hardware looks OK, it will last long I believe..
Only thing is that the guitar is pretty heavy..
At least it is a lot heavier than my Fender Precision Lyte.

I've got him now for three days and I love it!
Only one thing, I think it is heavy..
My favorite bass is still my Fender Precision Lyte...
But the Dean Edge Q6 is a great bass guitar also...

2003 Made in Korea. 24 frets! 4 controls but I haven't figured them out and no book! I know one is volume, one seems to pan from pickup to pickup and I think the other two are treble and bass.
2 very sweet EMG HZ pickups. Beautiful quilted maple top in red. 5 piece neck. Rosewood fingerboard. Abalone inlays in neck and headstock.

I love the sound of this bass. It sounds very "alive". I play alternative pop/punk. It is very bright sounding and punchy. The low B cuts through well. I had to adjust the bridge pickup because it was uneven and raised too near the high string. (no biggie there).
You can get a lot of variety of sounds. I'm not using any effects and when I adjust the tone/treble high and attack the strings I can get a synth bass sound! I love the sound-oh I said that already.

Action was perfect right out of the box. Like I said I had to make a minor adjustment on one pickup but that is to be expected. There were no flaws at all. The finish is perfect, the neck is perfect, the frets are smooth. All black hardware is nice and shiny. The red quilted maple top is absolutely beautiful.

I have been playing for 20 years. I am female and have smaller hands than most guys so my concern with a 6 string bass was reach. This neck is great for small hands. The spacing is just a bit wider than the Yamaha RTB's and the Ibanez models but that is good because you can still slap and pop and yet you don't get worn out like with a Warwick. It takes a little getting used to like anything new.
Also it is a little heavy (30lbs.) but very well balanced and nicely contoured. It feels good next to your body:)
560 bucks is a great value for this bass. I would definately reccommend it to someone on a budget.

1999 model, made in Korea, with only a few finish flaws, it's very nice for the price. I bought it in transparent black, but really wanted it in the transparent red finish, but it's only color. It has a basswood body with a quilted maple top, and it's just beautiful. It's got active elctronics, one tone, one volume, bass, and treble EQ's. The EMG-HZ pickups are amazingly bright and responsive, while not being overly loud or buzzy. The only gripe I ahve is that I would have liked it strings through body, but hey, you can't win em all.

Well I play mostly progressive rock/metal and funk, so it suits my needs perfectly. It's got a very bright and almost tingy sound with the GHS Boomers I use. The tapping lines are as clear as the guitar players and the popping and slapping sounds haven't been beat. Yet...

The action was very high when I bought it, and I had to adjust it, which isn't much fun, but hey, you gotta do it. Teh pickups were fine execpt the neck pickup was a bit springy when I rested my thumb on it, but it has since been fixed.

I think this bass could last my life, and I hope it does too, becasuse it's a wonderful instrument. Once again, only one gripe, the strap buttons easily unscrew if you move the bass a lot, but nothing a little Ducco cement can't fix.

Well I've been playing for about two years now; before it I had a fretless Carvin 5 string, and an Ibanez P.O.S. I find this bass has a lot of great features for a relatively low price. I brought this bass up against and Ibanez SR406, and I bought this one because IU found the tone and overall feel to be muhc nicer on my Dean than the Ibanez. If this were ever stolen, I'd probably buy a new six string, maybe not a Dean, but something similar.
