Made in Korea in '05 or '06 I'm betting. Short scale, mahogany body, maple neck with rosewood board, one P/U slanted to the bass side near the neck. Looks like a Mosrite--almost. Very nice red finish, nice feeling neck, standard low budget chrome bridge, nice tuners. Volume and tone control. Came with wrenches.

Sound : 8
Really has that cool semi-muddy short scale tone that I was looking for. I doubt this would be your only bass, but it is fun to play around with, looks cool and sounds great. Guitarists dabbling on bass should love the feel. It has that 60's vibe for sure. I put a great set of flats on the bass, which further muddied up the tone--perfect! If you want a clearer sound, then the rounds it came with are for you.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
First one I was sent had a twisted neck and went back. Too bad, as I really liked the sunburst finish. Next one was much, much better with a good neck. The action on both was too high, the nut is not cut deep enough and there is a high fret or two mid-neck that I am going to have to deal with to get the action down. This bass is built to a price, so that is to be expected. The pick guard was mounted improperly, which cocked the P/U against the side of the body (rather than having it centered in the body cut-out). I had to remove the plastic, re-cut it near the neck, and re-drill the screw holes. I shouldn't had to have done that. So, good finish and sound, poor attention to minor details. I'd expect better from a Korean guitar, based on my past experiences with MIK guitars and basses.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
As long as the electrics hold up, I can't see much going wrong with this.

Customer Support : No Opinion
We'll find out if I ever have any problems I don't want to deal with myself. I believe this bass has a three year warranty on it--very nice.

Overall Rating : 7
This is my first short scale bass. I like it. I'd buy it again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a short scale affordable bass that has that Mosrite look and feel. You might have to play with it a little to make the set-up better, but I'd say it is worth the money. Without the problems I had, I'd rate this a full point higher.
