2005 Dillion DTB-5204, made in Korea. Basically a damn good replica of a 52 P-bass with 20 frets, maple neck/fingerboard, book-matched alder body (solid), sunburst finish. It has the classic single coil pick-up in the mid/neck position with a volume and a tone control. Hardware is vintage-style and chrome-plated.

Sound : 10
I play in a southern rock/jam band setting and it works great. I use Tech 21 RBI into a QSC RMX1450 and a 1x15" cab. The bass sounds HUGE! Personally, I think the pick-up that Dillion uses has a little more of a balanced tone that the "real" model. I use fingers and a pick and have been knocked-out by the tones of this bass. By the way, this is the quietest single coil I've ever heard. I love the tone, the passive set-up, and the simplicity. Dislikes? Nothing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Set-up was fair ( that's why the 8). Tha bass was playable, but I had to tweak the truss rod and lower the action to get it playing the way I like (LOW action). The pickup was fine. No flaws AT ALL.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This thing is built like a tank. I have every bit of faith in every part on it. The hardware is solid and functions properly, the finish is flawless, and the strap buttons are the nice wide-flanged style that eliminates the need for strap locks. If I had to, I'd gig with this as my only bass and feel very confident.

Customer Support : 10
I e-mailed the company before buying the bass and had a response in less that 3 hours. Never had to have it repaired, but I feel like there would be minimal hassle. Warranty is 1 year.

Overall Rating : 10
I've played 20 years now. I live and gig in Nashville and have played and owned just about all of the big names (Modulus, Alembic, Fender, Rickenbacker, etc.). This bass is a STEAL. I love the simplicity, the vibe, and the amazing quality. If it were stolen, I'd find a dealer and buy 2!
