Features : 6
This is a 70's made italian EKO.
It is the copy of a 51 Fender Precision-Bass. 20 Frets, 4 String. It has a Volume and a Tone Control on a little telecasterlike controlplate, the Tone-Poti is broken, but it doesen't matter, cause i like the Sound as it is! It's an old Bass, so let's keep it as original as we can (or like)! It has one EKO made Singlecoil-PU, very little and small, just like the PU's that where mounted on the old Fenders in the 50's. But the Polepieces ar very big, just like on MM-Humbuckers. Very strong Magnets! The neck is made of 3 pieces of maple with 2 dark veneers between them, rosewood fretboard. The Body is made of 1 piece of a wood I don't know, it vibrates very good when you play it! It has a black to red sunburst finish! The Tuners are the original ones, very little and not as good as Schallers, but who cares, it's an old Bass...
It has the old Fenderlike PU and Bridge Covers, I like them!
I give it a 6 because it hasn't that much to offer, but thats just what basses like this are made of, 1 PU, simple controls, great sound!

Sound : 9
With this bass you can't do slap like things or have a clean HIFI-Sound. But if you like the sound of the basses on 60's records, it's the bass for you. It has a very warm deep sound, with very strong lows and low-mids. When I play with this Bass in my Band you can't hear every little note I play but you can feel this bass! It's a perfekt "Band-Bass", you will never disturb the guitarist, but you give a great foundation to your Band! When i boost the Highs on my Equalizer it can sound like the Bass on the original Smoke on the Water Record, with that heavy Fretbuzz!
It's not a very versatile Instrument, but I like the sound, so let's give it an 9!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
I bought this Bass used (this Instrument is older than I) so I don't know how it was set by the Factory. Anyway, when I bought it it was in good conditions. The strings are little high, but if you want you can fix that. I like it as it is. For slap and modern sounds I have still my G&L ASAT-Bass, were I keep the strings low!
The neck is the fattest I have ever seen! Not everybody would like it, but it gives a great sound! You have to get used to it!

The finish is still in good condition, some dings and dongs, but how i sayed, it's an old Bass!

Reliability/Durability : 9
It has been played live for 30 years, and I still use it live, so I think it will withstand most situations! The tuners do there work, nothing more, but they do it!
When I go out to play, I mostly use 3 Basses, so in the worst case I have still a backup. But i think for small concerts I can use it without backup!

Customer Support : No Opinion
No comment, never dealt with them!

Overall Rating : 8
I play now for 3 Years, it is my second Bass, and I use it for the 60's like sounds when they are needed. For that is it is a very good Bass. If it were stolen I will found that fool and kill him! I love this old piece of wood! It plays well, it sounds good, and it looks amazing! What more do you want?
