Same features as above. I have no idea because I got it off of eBay. Maybe a 2000/01. I did replace the bridge with a heavier one for a little more bite. I have never liked the Fender-ish bridges. I have never liked active pickups due to the battery thing and having to worry,"Did I bring batteries?" Play the music dont worry about little crap. So I keep my rig clean.

I play everything from jazz to metal ( http://www.downbreak.com ) and this bass is a monster. Warm and deep. A wide variety of tones without getting boomy.

I have all my basses set-up before I buy them so it came great. Black finish can get a little dirty with fingerprints but no big deal.

This bass is a tank! I am hard on my basses. I had bought a Warwick Thunb 5 and it was WEAK! It went down on me during a gig and I had no backup at the time. I purchased this because I was able to get it cheap ($125) and fast. Well after playing some shows with it I sold the Warwick and bought a new amp system. One of the most solid basses I have played. Who said you had to pay big bucks for a great feeling and sounding bass?

This is a great bass! I purchased it as a backup and now it is my main. I laugh at the price I paid for it. (no one believes me) Since then I have purchased a fretless version of this bass and it is just as amazing! You can not go wrong with this bass if you work your bass hard.

I have an old one from 2000. It has all the features the other reviewers have mentioned but it has a basswood body. I am using an ampeg preamp to a ss power amp to an eden 410xlt cab.

This bass sounds pretty awesome for under $200. I have been playing it for 2 years and I keep thinking I need to upgrade but when I go play on midrange ($500-$700) basses I can't really justify buying one because they are not a big enough improvement over this bass. The two pickups really give a wide variety of sounds from slap to rock. Using both pickups will really lower the volume level. This is not a problem for me because I have a mixer I use to boost the volume between my preamp and poweramp. I am giving it a 7 because if it were a 9 or 10 why would anyone buy expensive basses???

The bridge looks like it would be kind of crappy but I haven't had any problems. This bass was very well set-up from the factory and is very playable. Other more expensive basses I have played on do not feel much better than this, except for the Ibanez basses that have thin necks and are really easy to play. I like the soapbar pups because they are very comfortable to rest your thumb on.
The action is low but with no fret buzz and the bass stays in tune virtually forever. The back of the neck is nice and smooth.

I have really abused this bass for 2 years and it barely looks worn at all! Everything still plays great and stays in tune well and the electronics are in fine order. I would never consider a backup, in fact this would be a great bass to buy and use as a backup. No matter how many other basses I get I will always hold on to this one.
My only complaint here is that the strap buttons started coming loose after about a year and now I have gotten rid of them and just duct tape the strap on...seems to be working out for me so far.

For the price I paid I can't believe how great this bass is. Anything else in this price range probably doesn't come close. I give this a 10 because it is a fantastic value for the money.

made in korea so you know its quality... 24 xj frets. soapbar emg-hz pickups. passive electronics (but jsut as good as active in my book) master volume, tone, mid and balance controls. finish is "see through black" its cool... in osme lights it looks jet black, some times the woodgrain that can be seen through the paint looks red, some times green. maple ltd headstock and neck. maple body. ltd bridge

you could say im a punk rocker. i like it alot. tone has many possibilities. i use a variety of them depending on the song. it gives a nice deep full sound with the tone all the way down, and on just the 1st pickup. rocks the house down no matter where you are. only beef with it is that you cant use both pick ups with the tone down, with out cranking the vol on your amp way up, it goes quiet... real quiet.

action is excelent. can go plenty low, or as high as youd ever want. pickups were fine where they were when i got em, but i raised the action. flawless in appearance.

its a heavy beast. strap buttons are think and strong. stays in tune. its a rock. hard to hurt. lets put it this way... if you ever felt like a rocker and for some reason you wanted to break it on stage (im assuming youd be drunk, high, and retarded to do so) itd give you quite a run for your money, and youd end up making an ass yof yourself on stage... haha.. look what youve done... no need for a back up. this tank'll be rocking as long as you will.

Pups can be adjusted for almost any bass sound there is. Some people criticize it because it doesnt have active pups, but thats one of the reasons I bought this. Active suck out tone.

I play metal and death metal, and it suits those great. My friend borrowed it to play in a counrty western/ jazz band one night, and he said that everyone kept complimentng its sound. Very versatile. You can dial in any sound you want. Its not noisy at all, even with mt Gallien Krueger combo turned up to the max. Its great for stage and studio both. Got some weight to it, which is what I like, and it plays great.

Came from the store set up okay, but I made the action and intonation perfect in ten minutes. The pickups were great, no need for lowering or raising them. No flaws on my bass, no loose parts, nothing. Great after I finished setting it up, I give it a ten.

Toughest bass ive played in a long time. All the hardware seems solid, thick finish. Great strap buttons at first, but I put strap loks on all my basses. Very dependable. I use it all the time without a backup. Its a very solid bass, and bass strings dont break often. No need for a backup.

Ive been playing bass for 3 years now, im getting better. I own three other basses, a Fender Standard Jazz, Dean Edge 4, and an Ibanez GSR200. The Fender is the best of those three, but this gets more sounds, and is more durable and better built. This thing feels like a tank. If it were lost, I would buy another as soon as I found one. No need for something else. This is all I need. The only thing I wish it had was a 5th string, but LTD makes one of those to, so Ill probably order one soon. This bass gets a wide range of sounds, and is louder than a lot of the active basses Ive heard. Buy one now.

I played guitar for years and then decided to switch to bass. This is the bass i chose. I found ESP recomendations all over the internet and from friends, so I decided to go with it, even though i couldnt try one out because there are no ESP dealers in my area. I was not dissapointed with it at all, my only regret is i wish I had gone for a 5 string version. It has nice, big frets with a bolt-on neck. I believe the tuners are Grover, I'm not sure. It's got lots of nobs, plenty of em, volume, pickup selector, tone, and some range control, i believe mid.

It has a wide range of tones available, and it seems to be doing fine for what I'm playing on it. I play hard rock and metal, mostly, and some jazz when i feel like it, though I'm not very good at it. The only complaint I've had is that it has a lot of buzzing. I believe i just need to raise the bridge, im gonna ask someone more knowlegable than myself about that. I'm playing through a Crate BX-100 and occasionally a DoD Tech-4x guitar preamp i have, though i usually leave that out.

Its a really awesome looking guitar, i love the way it looks. Sometimes ill just be sitting around the house and i just think about how awesome my bass looks, my friends do the same thing sometimes. The only flaw is that buzzing and i believe thats easily fixed. Oh, and the strings were pretty bad from the day i got it, but thats just a matter of replacing them.

Sadly, i havnt been able to play it live yet, though hopefully i will be able to soon. I think as long as you don't chunk it around the stage, you should be satisfied with its durability. I've never had any durability issues though i've only had it about 6 months.

I've been playing guitar a couple years, bass about 6 months. I also own a Washburn BT-4 guitar, (a nice peice of equipment for a great price) and my trusty Crate BX-100 bass amp. If it were stolen, i'd probably save up and get a more expensive model of the same bass, except 5 string.

I bought this bass from Musician's friend just under a year ago as a beginer bass...I soon fell in love with it. It features a basswood body 24 extra jumbo fret neck with great smooth action. Since it it an esp i believe the pickups are emg's. The pickups are 2 Humbucking soapbars. The electronics are; 1 selector/fader, 1 volume, 1 mid-controll, and 1 tone. The sound you get is un restricted. You can dial in the tone for any type of music.

It's a great bass. It plays everything well. I play everything from Jonny B. Goode to Weezer to Chiili Peppers and I've been able to get the sound I want. It sounds realy good in drop d and sounds wonderful when you slap...not a noticeable amount of noice...i didn't give it a 10 because it's not a Warwick but it's a good immitation.
