the good thing about esp is how much you can customize your guitars. its almost like every esp is not identical to another one. there were 3 f204s in the store when i went to buy mine and they all felt very different. for the most part the frets are larger then any of my other guitars, and the wood on the fretbord is a darker wood. maybe rosewood. it dident come witha case or anything like that but i already had a coffin case which is just pure bad ass. i recomend them to anyone. they also fit the style of any esp and also fit warlocks for anyone whos having a problem finding a sturdy but affordable case for your warlock. there are 5 knobs for sound tuning. they do not give you as much range of sound control from my peaveys and my warlock but thats what amps and petals are for. i havent really messed around a whole lot with them yet so i dont really know what im talking about.

Sound : 10
this bass although it looks purely for metal sounds excelent with any music type. you can really rock out on it or even use it to play along with acustic guitars. and unlike alot of active pickup basses the sound doesent over power smaller amps. ( maybe this is just a problem i had) i dont dislike anything about the way this thing sounds

just look at it... its the best looking bass guitar on the market hands down. the only problem is that it can get scratched easly but i bought it used because i read about this problem so it already came with a few scratches and i knew i would end up adding more war wounds by the end of our first jam session...

i think that this bass is pretty sturdy (aside from the finish) but im not gonna take any chances. the strap buttons on it kinda suck. but i was planning on getting a strap lock system like i do for all my guitars and basses. as long as you have either a good strap lock system or a strap that fits the knobs then you should be good to go. the pickups are excelent. im pretty sure that the emgs are gonna last forever. and this guitar is awsome enough that if they did blow it would be worth the money to put new pickups in it.

i bought mine used from a store that i trust. so theres no warranty from esp on mine but the place that i bought it from has always fixed any problems that happend to my guitars rexpecially if i bought it from them. what better warranty do you really need. just take care of it and yo ushould be fine.

this bass is the bass that iv wanted sence the first day i picked up a musicians friend mag and started lookgin for my first bass. compared to every guitar iv ever looked at only the BC rich warlock and Vampyre and maybe the Epiphone goth thunderbird have any comparison. but id have to give the f204 and f104 bass guitars the gold over all. iv only been playing guitars for about a year and a half now so i dont know nearly as much as maybe whoever is reading this but from what i know and from what ive herd and seen this bass is a winner and both beginners and superstars alike could really get into this guitar

Already been covered...

Sound : 10
Works perfect with my black metal band (not to be confused with Nu-metal.) We play a very melodic metal where I get to do a lot of cool bass arpeggiations. The bass sounds great. I also use it in my Incubus/Perfect Circle (weird, I know) cover band. It handles it all very well. All in all, the guitar sounds great. EMG knows how to make good pickups and ESP knows how to make good guitars.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action was pretty good from factory, but I tweaked it a bit to fit my liking. The body is pretty comfortable, it sorta reminded me of my old Ibanez Soundgear (which was very comfortable). Last but definetly not least is the look...it looks soooooo badass. This body has to be the coolest shape ever invented. It kicks the warlock's ass. I love it soo much, it fits in with my metal band perfectly. The paintjob is great too, a blood red paintjob with cool little sparkles.

This thing has everything you need. seperate volume for each pickup, 3 parametric EQ, fast neck, surprisingly comfortable shape, nice EMG pickups, and a awesome paintjob.

Sound : 10
This guitar sounds GREAT. I had a bad impression of the EMG HZ pickups, but they surprised me. They sound really good. They give a great sound that can really cut through the mix. It compliments my SWR workingman 15 PERFECTLY. Such an amazing slap/pop tone, I love it. It does fingering well too, it's very smooth and clear. It lacks the warmth of some other pickups, but they are great for being passive pickups. Just about the best sound in its price range.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar was set up great when I got it. I don't know about the factory setup since I bought it used, but the action is perfect. Low enough to let you play fast, but high enough to keep out any fret buzz. I was trying to decide between this guitar and a Warwick rockbass, the deciding factor was the neck and action. The F204's neck is SUPERB! I love it, it's very fast and comfortable. Last but not least, the finish....IT'S AWESOME. I love the little sparkles they put into the paint. You can barely see them, but in the light it gives the guitar a extra metallic glow that I love.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I have only had it for 6 months. But I broke one of the tuners when I dropped it on it's head (Oops!). A broken tuner was expected, I'm just grateful nothing happened to the neck. I think that it's a very durable guitar, the finish doesn't look weak like an Ibanez's.

I love this baby. It looks so awesome and is surprisingly comfortable unlike the BC Rich shapes. (the mockingbird shape actually gave me a bruise after playing for a long time). The sound is great and be used for just about anything. I highly suggest this bass to anyone looking for a great bass at a great price.

Im guessing it was made this year 2002, in Korea- I bought it brand new a month ago. Its a four string bass with 24 frets and a very solid neck
It has volume, balance and an active eq which is excellent and
A set of Emg 35 hz pickups - which give great tone. A maple body and rosewood neck which look extremely beutiful I love the feel of the neck, one of the reasons I bought it. Non Locking tuners and a 35" neck scale. The body style is "BadAss" period, black finish body and a black finish on the head.

I play a hard rock music style in my band, but also play a varity of funk
mixed with bluesy soul when solo practicing. This bass is great for playing hard rock and producing deep pounding beats, I absolutly love the tone and sound, I can feel it. I play through an Ampeg svt 3 pro and a 4x10 and it gives me the Warm deep beats I crave for. I wouldnt say its the best bass for slap though, You can but its not made for it, of coarse a good musician can do what they want with any bass.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
At the store the bass sounded great with no buzz.
When I took it home and tuned it to C sharp / I got alot of buzz but no dead frets. This can easily be adjusted. This bass was the only one that fit right in my hands, no akwardness. So if your going for an E tuning the factory set-up was fine, but anything lower would require a few adjustments.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Everything on this bass seems completly solid and durable.
I have not had any problem with any of the components or finish.
I expect this bass to last a life time. And I view it as something I can depend on.

Customer Support : 3
Nothing can with it, no warranty, no nothing. Just it.

Ive been playing for 4 1/2 years, This is the best bass Ive ever owned.
I love everything about this bass and I wouldnt trade it for any other.
The look, and feel is my favorite thing about the bass, no other bass fit into my hands this perfect. The sound quality is a bonus to me. I believe you can make any bass sound like you want it if you put enough heart and soul into it.
