hey, er i dunno the year ,after 2000 tho. made in korea, which has proven well for producing guitars and basses.its got a pickup selector between the two humbuckers, and also for both at once. its also got master volume , and bass and tone controls.Esp tuning pegd hich have proved reliable and sturdy, rosewood i think and brillant easy neck. i think pickups are standard esp/ltd.laminnet body finish. 24 fret i think.

Brilliant sound and depth, the tone and bass controls gve you enough options to keep your hands full, and the pickup selector gives off all kind of tone versialty. i play pretty much all styles, but my prefered style is slaping and poping, which this bass is great for providing youve got the right pickup,(closer to the neck). its great for the chili peppers stuff, after a bit of fiddling with the controls, and also great for some 60s beatles and hendrix basslines aswell, when on the bridge pickup.i play it in my band, and the music we play is a mixed funk rock, in the punk frame of mind. i play it through a zoom 708 bass processor, and then my combo is a fender frontman 25b.

action was good and the only thing that was loose was the strap button screws, took about 5 seconds to tighten though. if you buy this bass i think you should check everything is tightly fitted so they dont come out suddenly and damage the rest of your bass.pickups were set up great at foxes, arnold, nottingham.

proberly the sturdiest bas ever. you could drop it off everest, into a huge pit of fire , have it bounce out and smash through buckingham palace and it still would have its great sound. the six neck bolts keep the neck at bay.

Made in 2004, made in Indonesia apparently... 24 frets; to much my liking:)... volume, two tone things, and an active phat bass controller, giving +/- 15b bass
mine's stained green, very nice, fingerprints don't get to it.. and it doesnt get dirty at all (in normal conditions)
nice shape of the overall bass.. comparitively heavy. but i like that comparing to piss light basses
for the money it is great!!!!

I've played for 5 years and I'm solely into the Red Hot Chili Peppers.. this bass suits me down to the ground and back up!! no noise when not playing... sounds great with digitech bp200, slapping and popping sounds great, well everything.. not too sure if ur into metal tho:S... a variety of tones can be found on this bass, very versatile.. I don't know why people surpass and miss the middle class basses because some.. like this one, are v. good for their money!!

Eric the moogman's first bass. Nearly indestructable, but cheap pots. This bass also has the 'wretched tone', curable with a preamp unit.

Sounds dull from the factory. As previously stated, a preamp makes a world of difference.

The bass is made in Iraq or something, so it is recommended to get it adjusted at your local music boutique. Once you do that, It'll be great for years. Stays in tune much longer than the old fender harmony.

A brick with strings on it. Tripped and fell on a friends porch and sent the stock through his storm door. If you are looking for a bass that can double as a croquet mallet, this it for you. Six screws hold on the neck. It's not going anywhere. Strap buttons rattle a little, but just get longer screws for there.

Buy this thing. A great bass with lots of potenetial, that is, no need to upgrade except for the pickups if you decide to use it professionally. Its a big chunky thing.

Is the new 2002 solid maple body version. 2 soapbar style humbuckers. Master volume, pu blend, Two weird tone controls. Though very useful tone controls once you get used to them. 24 jumbo frets, rosewood fretboard, maple neck. Standard ESP 6 bolt attachment. Black hardware. See thru med dark red finish. Finish should be thicker but is good overall. Slim neck similiar to my Ibanez SR400. This one is made in Korea for ESP.

Excellent sound, reminds me of what improved soapbar pickups on a 1970's Gibson Ripper or Grabber might sound like. Great bass difinition, nice amount of treble top, nice mid. Good growl. Works great both clean & with overdrive. Mainly plays rythmic death/black/thrash metal and electronica type stuff. Some spacey prog rock now and then. Plenty of variety via playing with pu blend & the two tone controls. Can honestly say this is one bass that upgrading pickups wont be concidered. Best soapbar humbucker pickups I've heard in long time. Fine for both stage & studio. Has high output level.

Arrived with action high. Unusual for both ESP & Musicians Friend. No problem to lower action though to taste. Very good fretwork. Is a little bit of marking on rosewood fretboard on G string side. But is smoth as can be, no defects there. Did tighten two of the screws on bridge. Not bad loose, just not tightened down all the way. 5 screws on bridge, all on rear side. Prefers bridge have couple screws also on front end, but no biggee since has 5 on rear end. One minor ding on back next to control cavity cover. Is how I determined finish is little on thin side. But is ok. Nut is fine. Strappins are little on the narow top side. But will be replacing with straplock pins anyway. Would like to see companies useing extra wide tops on strap pins, but very few do.

Is a well made bass. Solid hardware. Will finish wear off with playing? Naw, not unless you get foolish and start scraping it against edge of amp cans a lot like a monkey in heat or something. Lol. ESP truss rods seem to be very good from my past expeience. Should only need minor adjustment if I ever put heavir gauge strings on in. Which I have no intention of doing. My preferance is lightgauge. 45-60-80-100. Or 40-60-80-100. Came with regular gauge strings. So adjusted truss rod just a tiny bit for my preferred lighter gauge. I go for as low action as can get with hardly any fret buzz & with string depressd at 1st & last fret just tiny bit of air between string & fret tops at 9th thru 12 fret area. Is passive bass, so need for backup battery in case like my Ibanez has.

Been playing since early teens. Would replace it if lost or stolen. Maybe reenact disembowelling on peep who stole it. Lol. Compared it as best I could to Tobias Toby Pro4. Knew from past experience & freinds that ESP is relaible & very good. So went with it instead of more risky Toby. Wanted an excellent passive bass for my other bass anyway. Looked at and tryed Spectors passive bass in local store too. But likes feel, sound & looks of the ESP basses better for me. Is excellent bass in the available for under $500 at discount places range. Used to have a LTD B50, for the extra $79 the B104 runs is much nicer. (Pickups on B50 are so so & bridge wont let you get as low action as the one on B104).

Bought new in 2002. U.S. made I believe. It has a solid basswood body and a maple neck w/ rosewood fingerboard. 2EQ controls and 2 others, one volume, the other not real sure. It has 2 passive soapbar pickups too. The neck has 24 "extra jumbo" frets, as ESP calls them, that play really fast and smooth.

I love to play metal and hard rock and this bass really puts out the low end needed for that type of music. I usually play on my friend's tube amp and it sounds great.

Out of the box it looked great. A couple of weeks after I bought it I hit the the headstock on a doorway and the paint job wasn't even phased. The thing is built like a tank, and weighs about the same too. I'm not sure if that's a good thing though. It's good that it's not real light like a pussy Squier bass, but it tends to chafe your shoulder if you don't have a padded strap. It also has some fret buzz on it, but it sounds like it just needs a bridge adjustment.

Like I said the thing is built like a tank. The only thing that went wrong was with the control knobs and cable plug-in. The knobs weren't tightened enough when I got it and one of the nuts on the plug-in fell off. These were just minor problems and only needed a little work with a screwdriver and wrench.

I thought this bass would be mainly for heavy meatal but its very good for slap n' pop.Nice midrange growl.I think it sounds best with finger style though.I keep the volume, high and mid all the way up and the low flat.I play through a fender frontman with some old vintage cab.My effects include a ZOOM BFX-708 and a BOSS DS-1 DISTORTION.Sounds a lot like an Ernie Ball MUSICMAN.

This bass sucked come to set up.The action was so low that the first fret sounded as it were the third. The nut is very jagid and the neck has a huge space in the treble side of it.The LOW nob was very loose(easy to fix).I guess MARS just set it up wrong.

I dont think you would need a good backup but it wouldnt hurt to have one.The hard ware is steel and will last, finish seems slighty thin.I could keep this bass for about 10 years.
