This is one THUMPIN' mamma! The sound is absolutlety great and versatile!I have played and owned bass's ranging in price from $100 to $1100 (Hondo,Samick,Peavey,Gibson,Fender,Rickenbacker)and this one is a KEEPER!I also sport a 4 string Peavey RSB with active p/u's that i like to use for outdoor gig's (and cuz it just plain looks cool, black w/maple neck and gold hardware, and only cost me 200 bucks!)I also have another LTD 4 string with the same body but in see thru blue, which i'm not that crazy about, due to the pickup configuration (it's active, but with p+j style p/u's), but i'm hangin' on to it for now. The B205 EMG HZ and active 3-band eq setup is so awsume to me, that i have speciffically looked for other bass's with this same setup for consideration of purchasing, and so far ESP is the only one out there.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Right out of the box(actually it came with an excellent harshell genuine ESP case!)it was setup perfectly, and a year later, i still have not had to adjust ANYTHING!Only right now have i noticed that my jack nut is getting a bit loose (time to get out the nut driver). The see thru black is NICE!However it does smudge, but wipes right off with a cloth.Finish is pretty darn tough..so far.Action was and still is great! And since i'm a satin neck type guy, the neck feels great to me also.

One year later and nothing needs adjustment, strap locks still tight, tuners stay in tune, neck still strait, jsut that darn jack nut! It's extremely reliable (but then again aren't most bass's?)The only reasons i could see anybody needing a backup bass is if it met with a catastrophic event, or some frigin' moe stole it out of the truck! In which case, this said individual better hide himself and MY bass VERY WELL if they know what's good for them!

Been playin' for 20 years, all kinds of makes, all prices, all kinds of music, and like i said SHE'S A KEEPER!The ONLY thing it doesn't have is a set neck, but in this price range, the massive 6 bolt neck attachment and curved heel is just plain DANDY!I would recommend this baby to my own mamma!

Really really beautiful bass, cant belief its korean, came with a case ( thank god ) beautiful sound, brand new 2001 model in a see thru cherry red colour. The neck is really long and its a typical bass shape really, not like an ordinary strat style, a bit pointier and more curvier. Cant believe its soo light either, ive had 4 gigs already and i jump around heaps and heaps, its soo light and my strap never ever falls off. It also comes equipped with beasty EMG pickups

This bass i thought would be best for metal and new metal ( i play mainly new metal but i am in a pop band atm ) i had an ibanez soundgear 800 which i thought was a wicked all round bass, well that has been traded in now, i dont need that, this bass has every type of sound i need wether it be system of a down or blink 182 to my original pop music with my band, so much versatility in it. I have yet to chuck it in the studio but i imagine it would sound good. The fifth string is soo phat, i swear it could be used to kill someone its soo phat. This is such an all round bass and the price is wicked, any sound you could want

this is the most beautiful looking bass cosmetic wise, my see thru red is soo joy, i have people ask me what bass it is and how much ( expecting me to say around 2 grand (Aus Dollars) pickups were adjusted at just the right height and the finish on the hardware was great, all black, however id imagine it would scratch easy over time and could be damaged and scratched, i mother my bass so much but ive heard the hardware has to be looked after

This bass was a beast live, my other soundgear had like 3 dead strings A, D, G by this i mean it wasnt as loud as the E, i changed new strings had it looked at all the time still they found no problem, this bass is great, all my notes stick out like a sore thumb and with a quick change of a knob i can alter my tone from really low for some deeper stuff to really bright for some higher slap stuff. Its really handy how even though its a 5 string its really really light, makes it really comfortable to use and jump around on stage. I would use this bass without a back up for sure, although i would keep a spare ONLY for string purposes

Ive been playing 5 years, ive owned a shitty ibanez, shitty jackson, a jackson kelly pro bass and an ibanez soundgear, this bass kicks the shit out of them all, i cant believe i struggled with the soundgear for so long (dont get me wrong they are really good, but this is so much better value for money) the sustain on it is great and it has so much tonal versatility, my only real gripe is that sometimes hands can smear the finish, although it comes off with a cloth no worries, i was comparing this bass to another Soundgear 885 and an Ergodyne EDA 905 both ibanez and both 5 strings, this won in the end for its price, light weight and diffrent tones, unbelievable, ESP need to advertise their basses more this is FANTASTIC!!! i would definately reccommend it to anyone looking for a more pro bass or a first bass ( if they can afford ) if you can afford heaps then maybe go for a warwick, this is a good allround well priced bass

This is the Korean ESP, I see it listed without the LTG tag. It's a 5 string, with a mahogony body and rosewood neck. I've seen more knobs on other basses so I gave it an 8.(?) For me it has all the stuff I need. I play just about anything, mainly blues, jazz, heavy, and ballad. With just the controls onboard, and those that come with a Fender 300 combo, I can get any sound I need. Mine didn't come with anything else, me thinks I got ripped in that aspect.

This is one of the areas that this thing sold me. I play just about everything, slap to blues to HEAVY. THe mahogony body tends to bring out the mid-range. Which for me is just fine, coupled with either my Fender 300 combo or the ampeg I can get just about any sound I need. Roll off the mids and it gives a repectable slap sound. Boost the bass with the Fender and it'll growl with the best. For blues and jazz just leave the damn thing alone. Most of the time I'll drop the highs and just melt into the pocket. I've seen one review that said it was too bassy?!?! If there were one thing I would change it would be a little more low's, but that's the nature of the mahogony. All in all it's one of the best sounding basses I've played. Keep in mind, that this is an all around bass, not a Musicman slapper or any other more genre specific instrument.

The overall look of the bass is great, mine is the black cherry.(red)It's solid as a rock. Play it about 4 hours daily for over a year, retired the other basses in favor of this one. Only two things that I would improve on, 1 is that I had to tighten up the input jack a couple of times before it finally stayed tight, second, it could use a little more shielding. Everything else was just fine.

This is a horse. I constantly play, and this is the only thing I play with. From hours of pounding slap sets to laid back blues, this bass just does what you ask of it. I use a backup for string reasons only.

Never had any reason to use them yet. From what I've seen, and the warrantee that comes with it, it looks as though they are great to deal with. I give it an 8 only because I've never had to deal with them.

I've been playing for a number of years, and this bass is relatively new to me.I've had it about a year and a half. If it got stolen I would buy another in a minute. I've played just about everything under the sun, from Alembic to Warwick. This thing is fantastic. Don't get me wrong, there are basses out there that I would trade for in a minute, primarily a Padula.(Personal favorite) For the money this is the best bass I've found. But it's a matter of feel, I like a tight, low action, fast neck. If that's you're deal get an ESP.
