It's pretty much your run of the mill P-bass knock off. Cheap feeling finish on the neck, poor sounding pickup, cheap bridge... not much to say for the bass, in all honesty. What you see is what you get a little bit less.

It's the run of the mill maple neck, rosewood board, "solid body" bass.

Please note: that it is not a short-scale bass, even though it is, "Jr." What it refers to is the fact that the bass is not as full featured, or as nice as it's bigger brother, the Accu-bass, in the same way that epiphone uses the word, "Special," to mean lower end.

Sound : 5
It sounds... well... par for the course. It shares electronics with it's bigger brother, the "Accu-bass," which helps augment the darker tone of this bass. Acoustically, this bass is very dark and mellow, and the bright pickups and pots help to even it out. It's definately not bad sounding, but, it's not good, either. The maple/alder body feels heavier than the regular Accu-bass, but is supposedly the same, I suspect that they may have outsourced for some cheaper solid bodies or something. I really can't say much for the tone, as it's pretty... blah.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
The action on this bass is... well, horrible. I could never get it set-up so that it didn't buzz or feel good. It was either setting the action 5 inches off the neck of buzzing all over... your choice. The bass itself did feel solid, though. I would think the bass as a whole could survive a bomb, but... that action was terrible. I wouldn't recommend it based on this.

Reliability/Durability : 8
As far as reliability and durability goes, this thing is a tank. The action never changes, unless you need it to, and then sometimes it doesn't. The hardware is well made and tough and the finish was thick as an elephants hide. I wouldn't really suggest gigging with this bass, based on how terribly it plays... but, as for just sheer physical features, it's durable as a cockroach.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 5
In 9 years... I've never owned a worse bass, but, I've been lucky. I've played quite a few worse basses, owned by friends, but... if you're going used (which is the only way to get one of these) just get a used Fender or a regular Accu-bass. This was the only guitar I've ever sold, my girlfriend sold it to me and I sold it back to her after we broke up, weird cycle. But, it's just... not a good bass. And there are many out there.

It has 20 frets, it's got the typical p-bass shape, it's body and pickguard are black, it's got 2 knobs, one for volume and the other for tune, and it's got a split humbucker. The only problem is that the body is kind of heavy, but, that's about it. You should check the epiphone page for more technical features. www.epiphone.com

Sound : 9
Now I'm experimenting with funk-rock, so I'm using some advanced techniques (slap, pop, ghost notes, tapping, etc.) and the sound that I'm getting from it, is not the one that I'd like, probably, because it only has a passive pick-up, BUT when you start playing bass you probably are gonna use the righ-hand technique (punk, hard rock, hardcore, and many others), and this bass is just great for that.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I have nothing to say about this item, the set-up was just fine and I haven't had problems with that so far; the body, neck, pickguard, pick-up and knobs, are just like the first day.

Reliability/Durability : 9
As I said before, the only problem that I have with this bass is that the body is a little bit heavy, so the balance sometimes is not right, especially when I spend more than an hour playing.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't had any troubles so far. I hope that they respond if I will (I suppose so, it's EPIPHONE, man...)

Overall Rating : 8
Considering the price that I paid for it in a place where the offer wasn't much, I think that I got a nice bass, it is certainly not professional, but it is better that the basses on the Ibanez-gio series (at least the p-basses), the LTD's, the squier by fender and many others. If you are starting on this bussiness and need a bass that will stay with you for, at least a year, I think that this is the one to choose.

Not sure when it was made but made in Korea. 21 fret 4 string bass. It has a solid top and I satin neck (I think). Only the one set of pickups. Tone and Volume controls. It has a percision style of body which I really wasn't into. I have played bass for about 9 years and this was the first time I bought one. I have usually borrowed friends basses or rented them. So I decided to finally buy one but didn't want to shell out a lot for it. So I took this one.

Sound : No Opinion
I play Praise and Worship for my church and in another band. I usually don't use effects when I play bass but I will soon. It was a pretty quiet bass, with no hissing or popping. The sound was too skinny and wimpy. It doesn't have the balls that a bass should have. No drive or real punch to it. I was after the nice fat sound that my friends basses had, this one never did it for me. I was never happy with the sound that this bass produced.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Action was set up alright, this finish was pretty good, nice and durable. I bought this used so the tone knob was a little loose.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is where this bass scores high. I dropped this thing a few times, it always stood up. Playing live, I didn't have to worry, this thing was built like a tank. The finish is durable as heck. I used this thing without a backup and it was fine. I never had to get the neck adjusted for the time I had it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had to use it

Overall Rating : 2
As I said before I have been playing for 9 years and I finally got a bass. Although I am really sorry I bought this one. I had it for six months before I sold it because I just wasn't happy with it. It's a really good BEGINNER bass but for someone that is a little more advanced, spend the extra cash and get something else. I ended up buying a Squier MB-5 and I really like it. The only thing I like about it was it's durability. I tend to be more careful with my Squier than I ever was with the Accu bass jr. Like I said it's built like a tank. If it was stolen I wounldn't get another one. I'll have to admit, that I first liked it a lot when I got it, but I outgrew it in 6 months. I probably wouldn't encourage others to get it, not even a beginner. My new Squire bass only cost me about 100 dollars more and it's so much better. So save your money, and stay away from this thing.

I don't know where it was made, but it has 21 frets, I've pulled
them out, turned this bass into a fretless, then put them back in.
Been playing about 2 years, it has a solid top, two control knobs,
(volume and tone). The neck has a satin finish and feels very
comfortable (plus I sanded it a bit). I have a tuner (E string)
that has a little play in it, and the neck bows slightly near
where it attaches to the body of the guitar. It fits me real
well and I just don't know what a real good bass would be like.

Sound : 8
I play this bass through a 32 channel sound system at my church. It
sounds full and warm - but then my control over the sound is very
limited - it sounds like a bass to me and I'm just not that
particular about it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I have had this thing tore down and put back together many times.
It's not that I know what I am doing, rather, I just have too much
time on my hands. I did notice that the neck wasn't completely
straight. Short of that, this guitar feels very comfortable to
hold and play and the action is awesome. I use flat wound strings
and although I don't have any experience at it, I set the action
up myself. Still has that factory glow finish.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Two years running and I haven't had any problems other than the
tuners loosening up somewhat - but with a couple of turns with
a crescent wrench and the problem is solved.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed it.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing about two years - I own a Yamaha acoustic guitar
and a casio digital piano. The music minister at my church needed
a bass player. So I picked up a cheap bass and learned to play.
It was very much worth the money and I believe it is the best bass
someone could buy for $129. I love the way it feels and how easy
it is play. I would like to see a manufacturer come up with a good
solid bass amp for under $100.

This is a blatant P bass rip off. What else can you say. We all know that the P bass is a basic set up, bare essentials.

Sound : 6
Dumpy. You will out grow this bass within a year. Year and a half if you put in some emg's or seymour duncans. But keep in mind this is a barley 200 dollar bass. So for a beginner this is an excellent bass. Respectable looks, sound, and especially name. My number one suggestion if you want to pick up bass playing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
Good and solid. Im not worried about this thing exploding or anything. It's also pretty sharp looking. The thumb rest is in a horrible position and is obviously there for looks. Remove it. Wouldn't gig with it for a billion bucks, but if you are starting it will last you and fit your needs very well.

Reliability/Durability : 7
No worries. Play till your fingers fall off, she can take it. Does what it was made to do.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 8
This was my first bass and Im glad I bought it. I have been playing for a year and outgrown it and the crappy peavy amp I had. I now have a custom Fender Jazz standard, EMG jazz and precions pickups added. Cant remember name of bridge, better than stock though.Big ass Bassman 100 & 4-10 set from '76 (horrible for bass) I will keep this epiphone forever. You'll become attached to it. Worth the money for a new player.

Made in '98 in Korea
4 Strings, 21 freta
solid body, laminated black top
V,T (horrible, always causing dist.)
Split Humbucker (piece of crap)
Passive electronics
p-bass style
standard 4-to-a-side
large frets
gigbag, tuner, crappy strap, studio amp (crap)

Sound : 1
I play a lot of slapping and popping, and this bass is horrible
i use it w/ my ibanez bass chorus and epiphone studio amp (crap)
Turning up the tone to treble creates too much hum, if the volume is too low or high you get hum
dark, dull sound

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
Action was horrible, i have had to get the truss rod fixed twice in 6 months
pickups sucked, way too low
there are a lot of file markings on the neck, and the frets are really sharp

Reliability/Durability : 4
It's strong, it will last
the finish is good, shiny black, but there's a lot of fingerprints
the strap buttons have broken twice, both times the bass hit me
the truss rod constantly needs to be adjusted
i would never use this in a gig, i was suckered into buying it

Customer Support : No Opinion
