I play classic rock. I run the ebo through an ampeg svt4 pro with two 410 cabs.(lots of flexability).I bought this guitar for deep warm classic rock sound and wow does it deliver. However If you want a guitar that's going to be used for all types of music i.e jazz funk etc. this aint what you want. But if you are looking for deep' loud' muddy' growling 'pure bass sound this will get the job done and then some.Did I mention the tone control only brightens up the tone a little bit. I have several other guitars for playing other styles of music I bought the EBO for reason BASS! It delivers.

AS soon as I opened the box when I got home it was "mission control we have a problem".The neck on the guitar was cracked just below the headstock. So back to GC I went. The exchange went smoothly guys at GC were nice about it. When I got home with the second guitar I replaced the factory strings with D'Adarrio flat wounds. This required some tweeking of truss rod and I'm not sure if the new strings threw off the intonation a little "larger diameter strings" or if it was off origanaly from the factory setup but I had to ajust that also. The action was ok. I also had a problem with the tone knob it was loose and falling off I bent the prongs out a little on the pot that fixed that. Also the little thing that says tone on the knob fell off I glued it back on. Small problems ez fix no big deal.

This bass seems well made. I'm sure it will last for years with proper care.I would take this guitar without a backup to a gig I'm sure it will hold up. Nothing negative here time will tell how well things hold up.

Ive been playing for 10 years.Ive owned fender ibanez and warwick basses. This EBO isnt my primary bass but it is a lot of fun to play. Short scale' thin neck' smooth fast action loud deep sound. For 200.00 or so dollars this little bass is a great deal. Worth twice the price easily.

A cherry red SG style Epiphone EBO that was recently given to me by my children and supplements the P-Bass I have.
It's an Indonesian made bass, single pickup, 4 string with a short scale neck.
More details at the GC site, MF, etc.

The sound is great and it is currently run through a Fender amp. It has a deep bottom end and there are zero problems with the input jack, pots, etc. No humming, scratching, or noise at all; just pure bass low end.
If there is one dislike it would be that the tone control does not change the tone that much. My understanding is that this is an easy wiring modification and since I am a bit proficient with wiring/electronics I consider this a non-issue really.

This bass was set up very well. Pickups, string height, etc. are all perfect and the bass has zero fret buzz anywhere on the scale.
I have not found one flaw in the playability, assembly process, or the finish; with the latter being an absolutely beautiful shade of red.
Reliability/Durability
:
No Opinion
I have no idea about reliability/durability but based on what I've seen so far I see no reason to suspect any trouble with it in the future.
My son has an Epiphone also and it's been 100% reliable so I fully expect this one to be the same.
I would have no qualms about using this one anywhere without a backup.

No use for customer support and to be honest, I don't think I'll ever need to use them.
It has a limited lifetime warranty in place anyway.

I used to own a Gibson EBO before selling it and buying the P-Bass but will say this. I would put the new Epiphone up against the Gibson EBO any day of the week.
To me, the Epiphone EBO not only meets the playability and sound of my Gibson, it actually exceeds it in my humble opinion.
It's stunningly beautiful to look at, wonderful to play with a great feel, and if stolen I'd get another one the next week. Not a single regret at all.
