Okay. I'd wanted a new bass for ages and tried out a couple of different ones- I ended up reading so many conflicting reviews on the same models I couldn't decide. So I went stupid and thought fuck it and bought the big stupid and very fun Thunderbird. First thing that struck me was how well made this thing is, solid and sturdy and looks god damned amazing. It cost me #250.

ITs pretty cool. A nice browness to it if you know what I mean. With gain added it growls like an angry bitch, clean its nice and thumpy pumpy sound.

IT LOOKS AMAZING! Its a nice as a coffe table or somthing seriolsy its so nice loking. no flaws bloody perfect if I was a fender P-Bass I'd ask it out on a date. I would take it to a really nice restaurant, and like, spend pure hunners of money on her. Yeah no need to worry its very good.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Its tough as old boots. Gig without backup? Ohh yeah baby. It'll last for years its so tuff. You don't even need new strings ever. Well you probably will but whatever...

Been playing for about an 8 years, owned a couple of P-basses, hundreds of pedals (literally I have 78) Musicman Sub wich is a good instrument too. I do wish it came with a free box that had #300 in it. Oh well.

Made in Korea, set-up in the USA. Purchased by MF on the web. 34'scale bolt on neck with 24 frets (?) Pretty basic features, although I do like the humbuckers. 2 pickups, neck and bridge. 2 volumes, 1 tone. The cavity opens in the back if you need to do a little work. No case or gig bag and the case is 79.99 on musician's friend

Now the bridge on this thing is odd. I like the fact that it only has 3 screws for height adjustment. But when I changed the strings...the bridge fell of the guitar and fell to pieces...LITERALLY. Well, I guess it's supposed to do that. It remains in tact by the tension of the strings. Don't wig...it goes right back to where it belongs sort of like a puzzle. This was actaully reported by someone previous, but of course, I for got.
WARNING: Keep track of the position of the bridge prior to string replacement. The innotation screws also fall out of the bridge and if you don't remember where they were, it will mess up your sound.

I play whatever I'm in the mood for. I play hard rock, rock, pop and a tiny amount of funk. It's totally appropriate for all of the above. Well, at least for my standards. I hear people comment about it not being able to be used for "this kind or that kind of music". My response is why not? Get some feel going and make it happen.

It has a nice growl when the tone is in the middle. I play through a Behringer X600 and it can produce a lot of sounds. It can sing high like Ric or as low as a Precision. It's a passive instrument and I would guess that you could put active tones into it.
Don't we all perceive sounds subjectively anyway?

Out of the box, it was playable. The fretboard looked worn and the strings were average. Action was on the medium side and the bridge is interesting (old news). After D'addario mediums and lemon oil, this pig was oinkin'. The finish was fantastic on the sunburst. It's made of alder wood. The pics you see of this are not close to doing it justice. Actually, it's much darker and looks a little like a dresser or table. A really AWESOME dresser or table that is!

So far so good. Not enough in this area to speak of it.

I've been playing for about 2 years. I'm no prodigy or whiz by any means. I love the low end and the vibe it sends into the room. I have an SX Jazz copy, so it's possible that people may say that I have nothing to compare the T-Bird to and that Epiphone's are garabge. Well, I'm impressed with it so far. I hope this was helpful. As far as I go, nothing is a perfect 10 and giving one would project a major bias.

Also, I'm thankful for this site. I've gotten excellent objective feedback that has been helpful. This feedback helped me decide to make this purchase.
