Features : No Opinion
Built in China, in 2004 (bought in 2006). It's a Fender Jazz Bass copy with a slim neck, passive pickups and standard JB controls. The finish is Ivory white (I've seen that black and sunburst are also available of this model.

Neck is alder and Sonolekin, body of alder.

Sound : 7
The best thing about this bass is it's playability and un-amplified sound. However, to really make it work I've changed everything but the machine heads, neck and body. It is as if they've spent all the money (and they are inexpensive) for production on the neck and body of the guitar. I've changed the bridge to put on a heavy solid brass (hand made by Andre Barrera), changed the pickups with Q-Tuners and simply tore out all pots and kept only a phase switch between the two pick-ups.

The result is a great playing, great sounding bass! for minimal expense. This is my main instrument live, in the practice room and in the studio.

The factory settings where o.k. with the hardware it had, but that has been all changed. The neck and body are flawless and play well.

Reliability/Durability : 6
After a year I notice that the frets are wearing (they are starting to show deep carves from string action). The fretboard is lossing colour and also has string marks on it (especially higher up on the neck). At this pace I might actually need to change frets somewhere in two years.

I big minus, as I've grown to really like this bass. Always use it without a back-up on gigs.

Overall, and with the note that I've basically used the FJB-6 as a basis to add on the hardware I like, it's a great bass. If you have little money and want to start out, get this one, and then save up for some proper pick-ups. "Farida" apparently means "unique" and that is definitely what mine ended up being.
