Mine is the closet classic version, not too beaten about but a nice subtle amount of crazing in the finish and tarnish on the parts. Three tone sunburst with tort guard. Hard to rate the "features" of a Jazz bass, to me they're nearly perfect, all you need.

Sound : No Opinion
Sounds like the best Jazz bass you can afford, without having to pay for a vintage one.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Really well built, like most Custom Shop Fenders. Probably the nicest Jazz bass neck I've come across. Very good attention to detail on the mild relicing too.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion

Been playing years and years. Basically, I bought this because I wanted a high quality Jazz bass. It is light and resonant and rings like a bell unplugged.

This bass is a Fender Custom Shop '64 Jazz Bass in olympic white with a tortise shell pickguard. It's body is made of select alder with a rosewood fretboard. Vintage bridge and vintage reverse tuners with two chrome pickup covers. Custom shop pickups. Nitro finish. It was made on 2007 and came with a black vintage case.

Sound : 10
It sounds like dream, the perfect sound. It sounded great in both a warm & bright sound. I play out of a Mesa Boogie head with a 15 and two 10's. I also tried it out with an Ampeg B115, an Ashdown and a Hartke set up and I could always get the sound I wanted. It is very quiet, no buzz at all.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This bass was put together perfectly, no flaws at all. There was a slight buzz on the 7th fret of the E but that was taken care of. Beautiful Nitro finish and workmanship.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This seems solid and has held up so far. I never gig without a backup.

Never had to deal with them which is a good thing

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing over 25 years and this is the best bass that I ever laid my hands on. I also have a 62 Jazz Bass Reissue and a Fender American Precision. If it was lost I would be devastated, I would have to get a new one. This bass almost plays itself it's so easy.

It's a 1964 Custom Shop Jazz Bass in Olympic White, build in 2005.
Not getting into details because everone knows this dude's features.
For the novice player look at Fender.com.

Now we are getting somewhere, this is what you've been waiting for!!
Well.........it sounds like a 64 Jazz,but then a good one.
Lots of the original Pre-CBS basses (I've played them) are worthless (soundwise) so you just have to be lucky to get a good one.
This is one has the sound and weight of a very expensive pre CBS Jazz. But of course for a fair price. Believe me it is fair.
It's just the bass youve been dreaming of, light, plays like butter, sounds warm and vibe, vibe, vibe.............
The thing you dislike is when the gig is over and put it into it's
black tolex case with red plush.
If I could give it my own personal rating it would be 11, but I can only can go up to 10 so...........

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Setup from the factory is a non issue!!
Nobody like's the factory setup.
If you get a perfect set-up bass the bass-tec from your local store
has done a good job. (Fender knows this so why should they do this anyway)
Don't get me wrong: this bass is build perfectly otherwise I would not bought it!!!!

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
This is not a bass to gig in your local bar with people trowing beer around.
This one has got nitro so be carefull with alcoholic drinks.
It's bad for you expensive bass!!!
Mine only goes into my car to the rehersals and stay's at home.
This has nothing to do with reliability but it's just that I'm very carefull with this babe.
Of course you can depend on it of course I would take this bass and only this bass to a concert.(no bars)
No backup needed (my Stingray does, well.... at least a 9V battery)

No comment on this one (enough said about Fender)
But my lokal shop does very well!!! EMI Eindhoven, The Neterlands.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing since 1979 and played it all.
I'm a Fender collector so big problems to choose one of the 15 Fender basses every mondaynight. (rehersals).
I play a Hartke rig with two 4.5XL (4x10)cabs and a Laney B1 (awsome)1500 Watt RMS @2 ohms amp.
Every Fender is different so it's not a issue to compare those basses.
I need to play all my basses every now and then because there is a Fender bass for every song you play.
Maybe you think I'm mad but I just love Fender basses!!!
