I have been a musician for 37 years and played more guitars and basses than I can remember. I needed a bass for our studio and was sold by all the reviews of this thing. They must weed out the bad ones because I must be in the 1% that thinks this is junk. It sounds like junk, don't believe what you hear on the retailer's websites. Go to a music store and play it. I ran it through tons of gear and effects to give it life and nothing.. dull... thudding.. bla! The factory strings sound like fishing leaders. shame on Fender.

Where do I begin. I know this thing is only 300.00 but you can buy a great used bass for that on Ebay. The neck pocket has a huge gap in the top, the frets will cut your finger tips they are so badley finished, the tuners are cast and you can see the seem in the casting... so cheesey, and the butterfly tuners have debris in the chrome like sand. I tried to lift the pickups out of the pickguard and the screws back out but the pickup is wedged in the body.. it's absolute junk. Again, I don't know who wrote all those great reviews about this bass.
