Features aren't so great on this bad boy, as it's as old as the sun really. One pickup, volume and tone knobs. I understand it's made out of mahagony. I don't know too much about the specs really. 20 frets on a 30.5 inch scale. My dad bought this a long time ago, and I've inherited since he gave up the bass. The other review here seems to be correct about this stuff.

Sound : 10
I play a few styles, I can't really pick. But I love the sound. It is a bit muddy, but the sound is so warm, it's great for funk or rock, which is mostly what I play. I put some fresh strings on it recently and it sounds a lot less muddy. Before I couldn't get much slap action, but now it's fine. I can get a pretty clean sound out of it. I either run it through a vintage 60 Watt Fender Bassman or my Fender Deluxe 90 (a guitar amp, which sounds alright)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I like the action on this, it's nice and high. That's how I like it personally, it takes more work but there's no chance of buzz. I have a feeling it would buzz a bit with lower action. Although the bridge on mine does seem to be a bit higher than it should. If there were any flaws fixed or adjustments made, it wasn't by me. It seems to be set up well now though.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Well, it hasn't been serviced since the 70's, and I've never had it fail. They built them differently then I guess. I've played live with no backup, I trust it. The hardware has lasted, period. The finish is coming off in places, but not much. Everything on this was built solid, it's obvious. You just need to find one that's in descent shape still. I suspect most are playable though if they haven't been mistreated.

No idea.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing bass a few years, mostly out of necessity of a bass player at times. I've been playing guitar a lot longer. I recently bought a newer ibanez bass for a clearer sound. After a few weeks that was crapping out. I put some new strings on this and it's helped a lot. I don't know if I would buy this again, cause I have no idea what it would cost. To me it should be worth lots, of course I don't have that though, so I'd probably buy something cheaper and yearn for this. Another pickup would be nice I guess, but I'm not complaining. This thing is absolutely beautiful looking, feeling and sounding. It might not play as well as a newer bass, but the tone quality makes up for it. If you can get one, I reccomend it.

American made, 20 frets, Solid body Gibson SG shape. Has one volume and one tone knob. It is the cheaper model between EB-O and EB-3 and has only one humbucker pickup by the neck. There is also a chrome cover thing between the neck and the bridge, just for looks, and a rubber mute in the bridge. The tuners are original vintage Gibsons and the guitar itself is red and made of Mohagany(including the neck). It's 30 inch scale and has a set neck and the neck is kind of thick, fat and chunky.

Sound : 10
Well being I play 60's rock and jazz, It's great for that Cream style. It even sounds great for Beatles tunes, but sounds nothing like a Hofner. The sound is extrememely muddy and the tone knob doesn't do much to change the sound. It also sounsd great through a fuzz box. As for jazz its horrible. The short scale doesn't help and the sound isn't clear enough.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I bought it from a guy lsat year for $150. All that was wrong with it was it needed strings anda good cleaning. Theres a big spot on the back where the finish is worn off. Except some idiot tried to raise and lower the bridge without loosening the set screws, so it's pretty mangled. They also altered the circuitry which I restored to its original specs. The horns on the body were a little worn, but you can only tell up close.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've only played it live a few times, but there are never any problems. Seeing what it has been through since I bought it, I'd say its pretty damned durable. I'd even use it on a gig without a backup. It's simply fabulous.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I guess Gibson is good with their warranties and whatnot, but this thing is 32 years old!

Overall Rating : 10
This thing is pretty rough looking up close, but it sounds great (for 60's rock) and is reliable. If you see one, but it!! I've seen other crappy EB-Os though, so I'd suggest anything made in the 60s.
