Features : 10
60's something double cut-away thin bound hollow mahogony body with "f" holes. Rosewood fretboard. It's a beautiful shape and the natural mahogony is a pretty color. 2 huge pick-ups. 3 way toggle, master vol, individual vol/tone for each pick-up. I hate the knobs...don't think they are original. Short scale....perfect as I'm primarily a guitarist and my bride likes to occasionally knock around on the bass. Premium aftermarket tuners and bridge. Plush lined h/s case suitable for burial. All the features available at the time.

Sound : 10
Old fashioned tone...and I mean that in the most complimentary way. Not a contemporary voice. Deep lows, mellow mids, just a bit of a growl on full treble. "Sustain" does not describe it's ability to hold a note....you need a calender to measure it. Don't have a good bass amp to play it through so I can't accurately comment beyond this.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Bought it used...sight unseen from some guy in Iowa that some guy I knew, knew. Previous owner tried to re-do the finish...I was told it was a "project" guitar. I had to strip it (PU) all off and go with tung oil. Looks OK, thus the 7. Neck, action, playability and intonation are 1st rate. Skinny nut. Tiny neck. Plays easily. In that respect it's a 10.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Bought it in distressed condition. Cleaned it up. Verified it's Guild heritage with the factory...they sent me a new headstock decal as the previous owner took off the black facia. Never had a problem. Ultimately gig-worthy.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Got 4 Guilds. Never needed any help related to product integrity. I think they get things right before they ship them out. Haven't had to deal with them at all under the last few owners of the brand.

Overall Rating : 10
35+ years. Mostly guitars. If lost or stolen I'd survive, but this is sure nice to have around. Beats the heck out of having just a regular old bass like everyone else has. For what I have into it and what I've gotten out of it...it's priceless.
