Only 356 Super Swede Basses was built 1980-81 in sweden, the last bass model they built before they shut down the factory, so it's very rare. In typical Hagstrom spirit, the electronics are very basic, two volumes and one tone control. Neck-through body, sunburst finish.
I have the original Hagstrom flightcase and tools.

This bass is one of the most versatile ever built, it can produce everything from that Jaco sound to smooth jazz tone! I play mostly funk and blues and it suits me perfectly.

This is the higlight for all Hagstrom instruments! The neck is so incredibly fast! The frets and the neck are so well built that you can lower the strings sooooo low! I have no complaints on this bass.

well, it's from 1980, and it looks almost as new. Everything feels solid and wellbuilt, and I would never bring a backup to a gig.
it's not like the electronics are gonna fail either, since there hardly is any. :-)

Well, they aren't around anymore, so I have no opinion.

I have been playing piano for 15 years and bass about 5 years, and if I should lose this one, I would first cry my eyes out, then try to get a hold of another one. I have tried MANY basses, and i think the super swede is one of the best basses ever built, including OLD Fender jazz basses. I love sound and the "vintage" feel of it.
If you should ever stumble upon one of these, then BUY IT!
