As far as the details listed by everyone else, I'll assume they are correct. The one bit of clarity I might add is that it is definitely a passive bass. To explain my rating here, feature wise this bass is just average. Part of what I like about it is its simplicity. If anything, I'd prefer a single pick up setting. I added a couple points to an average rating of 5 because the one I got came with a very good Gator case. I paid only $150 for it used from a local pawn shop so I feel like I got one whale of a deal.

Sound : 7
I bought this bass hoping it would have the MusicMan type of sound based on the similar design. To that end, I'm disappointed. It definitely doesn't have the "bite" nor the deep, gut level bass of a Musicman Stingray. That having been said, its probably got a very decent modern sound. Just doesn't particularly fit my style or hopes that way. If I keep it, I may try a set of flatwound strings on it to see it I can get more of a retro, eb0 sound that way.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Finish is great in that its very utilitarian. What I'm surprised to hear from others is that they consider the balance to be good. To me, its got the typical SG/EB body style thing going on of being head heavy which gets old after a long time playing.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Built like a tank... That's why it sits on a stand at gigs as my back up bass.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No experience here. Like I say, its a pawn shop purchase for me so warranty etc. doesn't come into play.

Overall Rating : 8
The sum of the parts is greater then the individual concerns for me. This is a great bass especially for the price I paid. It just doesn't really fit my tastes personally. The one thing I'd see as a universal is the balance issue.

Same spec as the other review's 2 Passive MM style pick ups 2 volume 1 tone control-Black but in proper day light you can see its Cherry Ive never seen another one this dark colour before or since
Crown inlay fret markers a nice weight.
Very nice fat neck bolt on with jumbo frets it came with a hamer gig bag I tried the bass on a strap in the shop for balance and it was fine

Sound : 9
I was blown away that this bass is passive but can still deliver the goods. The postion of the pick ups are what drew me to this bass its got a very tight funky sound it will handle anything from slap/Rock/Pop to dub its quiet a dark sounding bass over all not too deep more mid sounding than anything
In the shop I played it thru an old 150 watt TNT Peavey Bass combo and it sounded solid and slap happy
They had a 1000 watt Trace Elliot there too but the speakers and head where not plugged in,But I though if it sounded good thru an old Peavey it would sound great thru my rig
It records very well on my home set up every note is very clear and defined the pick ups and electronics are very quiet
One niggle is that there isn't much travel on the front pick up volume pot before its off

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Set up was good a very low fast action no buzzes or rattles the Bridge unit is a bit pony but it functions
Tuners are ok agin they do what they are suppose to, maybe Il replace them at a later date
I tried to raise the bridge pick up but it didnt want to move up or down when I tried the three screws so I left it
The strings supplyed where ok Ive since fitted Rotosounds 40 to 90's and to be honest the stock strings sounded better
nut is fine I couldnt find any finish flaws belive me I really checked it out for ??250

Reliability/Durability : 8
Ive used this bass for recording mostly and its like a really good Jazz bass it will fit into any musical style as I pointed out before.
Ive gigged with it and its a solid work able machine.I will get strap locks for it next the finish is going to last forever
This bass will be my number one from now on I played it with out a back up every time and it hasnt let me down

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing bass for over 20 years pro to semi pro Ive wanted to put away my old Pangborn and 3 Jaydee basses as they are getting very old and tierd as well as very valuble.Ive also got a 1996 Jap 50's Fender P with EMG active pick ups.I came across this little beauty and haven't looked back since.I was looking for something a little bit diffrent visually and more importantly sound wise and Ive got it with this bass
I use a Hartke AH500 head and a Hartke XL 4x10 cab
I was expecting to get this bass home and discover it was a compleat Dog but I was surprized at how well its handled every situation Ive put it thru
It cost nothing ??200 is very little money for an instrument and because it was so cheap I whent over it with a fine tooth comb to make sure I was getting value for money
Had it been an Alembic/Lakland/Spector or a high end Status bass I wouldn't have checked it over with so much detail as I did or tried it on a strap before I brought it.
Thats because Im old school when Chinese instruments where just shite
now things have totally changed and you can get a decent guitar/bass for under ??500 to ??300
thats why this bass gets a 10 Ive also just brought a Blue Hamer Flame burst guitar for recording and gigging

Bought new in 2006. Made in China. Color is black cherry. It has 2 MM style humbuckers with 2 volume and one tone control. Black hardware and trapezoid fret markers with a set neck design. Attractive looking bass.

Sound : 10
I play in a classic rock cover band and the sound of this bass fits it perfectly. It has a deep buttery sound but yet good mids and nice highs. It actually has a good range considering the type of pickups it hass. Neck is full and big and the bridge is punchy and crisp.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The setup was good but took a slight tweak of the trussrod to get it perfect but now it plays great with nice low action. The neck is slim and feels great. The fit and finish are good for a bass made in China. No complaints here. Frets are finished nice with no sharp edges. This bass feels solid in the hands and feels like a bass that would cost much more.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I see no reason why this bass would not stand up to years of use. It is built solid and nothing stands out as being cheap about it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had to deal with them.

I have been playing for 30+ years and have played dozens of basses. This bass is one of the better basses that I have played in this price range. I would buy one again if it were stolen. I am mainly going to use it for practice and an occasional gig and will be selling the jazz copy that I use for this now because the Hamer is just a better built and better sounding bass. I have had my eye out for one of these for some time and finally found this one and I am glad I did. I have never played one or even seen one in person but I am glad I took the chance. This is a great bass for the money.

I believe this bass was made in 2002-2003, a 24 fret bass. It has three pots, two volume and one tone. It has two big musicman style humbuckers. I believe it is passive but im not sure. The finish is really neat, its gun metal grey, and its satin with black hardware. It looks very goth which is part of the reason I bough it. The bridge is a stop bar, and its a 34" scale neck.

Sound : 7
I think this bass is confused. It looks goth so i expected it to have really good low end, but when I plugged it in it sounds like it was made for slap. Slap isnt really my style so i just mess with the eq and I can get a pretty decent tone out of my shitty crate amp.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
It was set-up alright, i play some in drop d and it seem to buzz a little in drop but i havent got around to adjusting it yet. Other than that the set up from the factory was ok. The finish is a little bit different. It had been hanging around at the local music shop for a very long time. The paint had to started to bubble around where it had been hanging from a wall hanger.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Havent had a problem yet.

Customer Support : 10
Havent dealt with them yet.

Overall Rating : 9
I dont know a lot about this bass other than its off the sunburst flattop line. It seems pretty decent but I have a crappy setup right now so i could have the nicest bass in the world and it would probably sound like shit through my amp.
