Bought Second hand in pretty good nick. . .
The Frets are kinda buzzy for me but its an old enough bass and that can be fixed easily
Sound

nice Deep Bassey Sound, The body is built nice and heavy to accomodate this sound.
I use a guitar amp when practicing and still get a good sound out of it myself but when its plugged into a bass amp thats when the fun starts :D

Indestructable Dropped loadsa times(Accidentaly of course) and stuff dropped on it(heavy stuff)

It's a passive bass, with two soap bar pick-ups, twenty two frets. It has two control knobs, one for volume and one for tone. The tone knob has really only two sounds: bright, well not too bright, this bass is actually very fat sounding, and when you turn the tone all the way down it cuts off all the brights.
The body style is similar to the precision, and it's very comfortable to play while you're sitting. Standing up it's just too heavy.
Overall it is a very simple bass,.

The sound is similar to a Fender Precision bass. It has a lot of bottom end, with not too much brightness. I would describe it as a dark yet warm sounding bass. Sometimes it sounds like an acoustic bass, specially when you use a pick.
It's a very loud sounding bass, and in a live performance you have to be carefull not to play too loud. On studio, when you set the tone high, it can be a little noisy.
I like the fact that the sound cuts trough very easily. I don't like the fact that it is a very bad bass for slapping and popping.
I use mainly with a Peavey Microbass System 110, but I have played it through some Gallien-Grueger amps, and SVR cabs. It sounded really big.

When I bought it the action was very high. After I calibrated it lowered, but this bass has high action. I think you would need to change the bridge to fix that problem. Other than that, the bass came in very good conditions, an was well set-up. Although the high action is sometimes very annoying, specially after you've been playing for a while, it puts a lot of strain in your hand muscles.

I've been playing my bass for about three years now, and the only problem I've encountered is that the wiring is not so good. I have soldered the wires that conect the input jack twice already. Other than that the bass is almost indestructeble. The finish is really good, because I've droped it a few times, some very hard, and it doesn't even scratch.
I always go to gigs without replacements.

Overall I think that it is a very good sounding bass, yet not so good in the other areas, such as comfort, weight, features. In spite of the latter I would recommend to anyone who is starting, or doesn't have much money, to buy it. In its price range it is by far, in my opinion at least, the best bass you can buy.
Take me for example, I play bass almost on daily basses, and I haven't bought another bass for three years now. Now I'm actually going to buy a bass that cost about four times what I paid for my Hohner, yet, I think I'll keep using this one very often!!

Very Solid Heavy Bass. Double coil soap Box pickups, and a volume and tone control. Black finish with a white pick guard, and I think a maple neck. 20 Frets, 4 strings. basically a Fender P-bass copy.

Loud Sound, with quite a lot of tone. I have a DOD distortion pedal, and the sound is even louder with that, even on my 20W amp. It quite suits my style which is sort of heavy punk/metal sort of doodahkindathing.

the electronics were frankly shit, but I had it rewired. I think the pickups are a bit dicky as well, and the bottom end of the range is much louder than the top end, but apart from that, its fine.

this bass is really solid and will stand up 2 a lot. The finish is really thick and durable, and I havent scratched it which is suprising since I put it thru a lot of stuff. I think Id do a Gig with it without a backup, and Im pretty sure I wouldnt B let down (its beside the point that I dont have another).

Ive only been playing since Christmas, so my opinion isnt backed by Much Experience, But Im really fond of this Bass. If someone asked me 2 swap it for something much better I probably would say no, but thats just me. I didn't have a choice, as my Dad bought it 4 me, but I am very pleased with his choice.I love its nice loud beefy sound, and its big solid body. If There Are NE other owners out there, can U fill this in as well? I want 2 C wot other ppl think
